Chateau Bordeaux questions
Chateau Bordeaux questions
We have always driven by Chateau Bordeaux and said, "one day we'll try it"
I'm thinking this trip! Because we're staying in Coral Bay the drive would not be bad.
OK - so my question is - what about dress? We are strictly casual, we do not bring along nice clothes - long pants (jeans) is about the best we care to do - is this acceptable apparel for Chateau Bordeaux?

When we ate there this past May, I wore a tank and a rayon skirt and my husband wore a polo shirt and khaki shorts. Everyone else there that evening was wearing something like that (some guys were wearing slacks). But the restaurant seems to have become more casual since then: http://www.on-stjohn.com/2008/10/06/new ... -bordeaux/
Looking at the new menu, it's definitely more affordable (their entrees used to cost around $35-55). I've been wondering if the quality of their food has been affected by the new lower prices or not. Hoping to hear a review from someone who ate there recently.
These are the dishes we ate this past May. Do they still serve something like this? I loved their salad with quail and lobster mashed potato!

patr - we love Chateau Bordeaux for several reasons put together. The view is awesome. We like to get there where we can see it (the view of Coral Bay) before it gets dark, and we like to look at all of the lights once it gets dark. We do go in the summer though.
The service has always been extremely friendly and pleasant, and the food was also delicious.
As for dress, I have worn shorts and either an izod shirt or a short sleeve Hawaiian Shirt (yes, I wear them at home too). Granted, I am not the epitome of style (my sisters want to send me to Fashion Emergency or whatever the new version of it is called), so I may not be the one to ask, but I did not feel out of place. SO also wore shorts and a short sleeve shirt when we ate there. Like Pia said, I wouldn't wear a t-shirt and frayed cargo shorts though.
I think ya'll will enjoy it. We usually go there on our night that we split from the group for dinner...kind of our "romantic" meal.

I did stop there for a drink and bathroom break on our way to Coral Bay this last trip (and the obligatory pictures), and I must say that the view is amazing and the menu did look pretty tasty, and I didn't really think it was any more expensive than anywhere else on St. John, especially because you're paying for the view!
