I broke down and got a new suit this year at sears.Trpical escape(brand) it is a one peice but has the waste that slims you. I love it love it. oh and i look good in it too. I always get a all black suit with a little color. Nothing with all frowers because you know then we look like a large flower garden walking on the beach. I also have one of those two peice ones with longer top and skirt like bottom. i was real reluctant to buy but i lost some pounds and its looks ok on me. I wouldn't recomend that kind if bigger then an 18. because it does no one any good justuse(sp). Try ebay i find all kind of things i need on there.

I've gotten a few suits from Newport News, and have had good luck with the quality. They by no means compare to the quality of some of the stores mentioned in previous posts, but they are a nice alternative if you want a few different suits, but don't want to pay more than $40 or $50 bucks. I've even bought some of their clearance pieces for like $10 and they were fine. The Tankinis are nice because sometimes you can size the pieces separately. Plus, I'm a tall gal and one pieces are never long enough! Good luck in your search!

Truthfully I had no interest in reading this thread until I saw JORGE post on it - now I will have to watch the insidious direction it will head. Much more stimulating for sure.

All I know is that he better start waxing before he shops... maybe RickG still has some good blades in his Epi-Lady that he can pass on...

Lysa~

From one curvey girl to another...the Tankini is TOTALLY the way to go. Very forgiving...in all the right places! It covers a multitude of sins... For me...Target Boutique! Inexpensive and just as cute!

Here's one of my Target suits from this past March...I'm the one "hiding" behind the green pole! HA!!!

Curvey? Put it on me!

NoTanLines likes the Tan-Thru suits from Solar - http://www.solartanthrusuits.com/ - they go up to size 24 and help reduce those unsightly tan lines.

BOATSRUS, as you should know, the Epilady is a bladeless painless hair removal technology. I find I can plane my back smooth 5 or 6 times before I change a spring. Sweet Christine says "Manly, yes. But, I like it too."

Rick G - Painless? You are talking about the coiled wire-vibrating-slow hair plucking-made for torture-created by the devil himself-hair removal contraption, aren't you?!

Oh sweet Higher Power by whichever name that you pray to, I hope your joking!

I second Janet on the California Swim Shop in Wrentham.I went in to buy a suit and bought 2. The sales girl was very helpful matching a suit to your shape. She kept bringing me suits to try on while I stayed in the dressing room- I would not have even tried on the 2 suits I ended up purchasing. IIt wasnt very busy the day I was there so Im not sure if the service is always that good!

You may not want to wait until you get there, but there is a shop at Mongoose that has beautiful suits. It's called bougainvillea. Good luck!

I don't believe that Bouganvillea carries anything in "Curvy" sizes.

Best to buy BEFORE you go!

I also agree with Target's tankinis. Don't know if they'd have any online right now or not. I bought one three years ago from there and have gotten my suits there ever since. I've tried the more expensive swim shops close to our house and never found anything that looks as good on as the suits I've gotten at Target. My curvy friends always ask where I've gotten my suits because they like them. I take that as a good sign! They usually last for two seasons and I'm in the water ALOT end of May-September.
