Hi Loria, I do remember the Howes name, but pleaseloria wrote:KathyZ- i used to live on the cape (in yarmouth mostly) in teh 80's--saw several shows at the colliseum (in fact lived very close to there for a bit)--you didn;t know any of the Howes family did you?
mention some 1st names and that will help.

I know that Howes is an old Cape name and the only
Howes that immediately comes to mind is good ol'
Dr Howes from Bass River.
I went to D-Y, class of '79.
Oh and after reading SJ's list I remembered
that the Outlaws played a few times on the Cape
and I believe I saw every one.
Green Grass & High Tides Forever...
Hey do you remember the Compass Lounge Loria??
Omg, was served my 1st adult beverage there a coupla
years prior to my 18th

Wow, great topic! I'll have to get my list together.
CG, I saw the Beatles too!!! They were in D.C. at RFK Stadium in 1964. I was only 9, and can only remember SCREAMING girls. We were like 2 rows from the top, couldn't see a thing! I remember a little tiny stage and these 4 ant sized guys running out there and the shine from the guitars was blinding. Hope your memories were better...........2 times, HOW COOL!

First concert: Huey Lewis and the News. I was 15, and I met my first boyfriend there.
Others (that I remember! There were LOTS more)
While at college:
Siouxsie and the Banshees
Public Image Limited
10,000 Maniacs
Dead Milkmen
Pearl Jam (3 times)
Thinktree
Bob Dylan
Throwing Muses
Sugarcubes
B-52s
Ziggy Marley
Robyn Hitchcock and the Egyptians (I can't believe I remembered this show! He played in our cafeteria)
Joni Mitchell
Public Enemy
Rickie Lee Jones
PJ Harvey
Pixies
Others:
Sarah McLachlan, five or six times
U2: at least 40 times. Every Boston/Foxboro show since the Joshua Tree, plus shows in Montreal, Philadelphia, Saratoga (that show was my first date with John!), Hartford, Providence, Houston, Birmingham, New York City, Worcester...I'm probably forgetting some cities.
REM: at least 15 times, mostly local.
Tori Amos, 5 or 6 times--all locally.
I've only seen Bruce Springsteen once--on the Vote for Change tour for the 2004 election in Orlando. We were bored with Disney and decided to head over. Well worth it. He was AMAZING! The CCR dude--Fogerty?-- was there also and his voice still sounded perfect.
Sinead O'Connor
The Alarm
Elvis Costello (three times)
Suzanne Vega
Ministry
Keane
Diana Krall (five times)
Midnight Oil--three times. I miss them!
The Cure, twice
Depeche Mode (boring!)
INXS (original version)
Tracy Chapman
Peter Gabriel
I know I am forgetting LOTS!

Most fun, by far...Aerosmith, 1976, Toys in the Attic tour. At the old Comiskey Park. Went with Marcia. The roof of the ball park caught on fire and Bill Veeck, peg leg and all, was hobbling around asking everyone not to panic.
Jeff Beck was playing at the time, and he just kept playing. Big fun.

Wisconsin, smell the dairy air
Super cool to see all these concerts listed...
CG- Stones and Beatles in the sixties...cool!
Sure would be fun to hear the sories....
Let's see...I wrecked my car (rolled it over on it's side) on the way home from The Cars concert! I guess alot of these stories shouldn't be written down...
