No way - I was at both of these shows I think!

Styx with Bad Company?

The Police - with REM, Madness, Joan Jett - about 1000 degrees out???

I have a little tin box with all my stubs in a storage place in NJ...

I am pretty sure my first concert was Neil Sedaka at the Garden State Arts Center circa 1970 some-odd. It only get better from there. List them? Geez....I'm all over the place with this list.

Harry Chapin a gaillion times
Barry Manilow
Genesis
U2
Jackson Browne
James Taylor
Journey (oh that one was ugly!)
CSN
BB King
Yo Yo Ma
Steely Dan
Lyle Lovett
John Hiatt
Carly Simon
Billy Joel
Hall and Oates
Don Henley(but never the Eagles)
Bruce Hornsby
Peter Allen (if anyone even knows who that is!)
Elton John
Bette Midler
Al Green
Paul Mccartney
The Funk Brothers (house band of Motown. Some of the greatest musicians ever)
Elvis Costello
REM
Madonna - how could I forget! Slept on the sidewalk outside the garden to get tickets! LOL

oh and that Springsteen fellow a few times.

This list is off the top of my head. I know there's way more. Multiple venues over the years. I can't even recall.

I don't think I could remember years and most of these are in Philadelphia at various forums but some in NJ:

Madonna and Beastie Boys (Like a Virgin Tour)
Bruce Springsteen (Born to Run tour and then when he played at the Linc more recently)
The Hooters with Cindi Lauper (The Mann)
Pat Benatar and the Beach Boys on the Ben Franklin Parkway on the 4th of July
Elton John and Billy Joel, together in Phila
Prince (Purple Rain, Alphabet Street and a couple of years ago)
Foo Fighters (Borgata and Wachovia)
The Bacon Brothers, Tower Theater
Red Hot Chili Peppers and STP in Red Bank, NJ
Fleetwood Mac at Tweeter Center
Jimmy Buffet (Merriweather Post, MD, Tweeter Center and Boardwalk Hall)
Neil Young Bridge School Concert (all acoustic), Mountain View, CA (last 4 years acts included but not limited to CSN&Y, Dave Matthews, Foo Fighters, Death Cab for Cuties, Jack Johnson, Brian Wilson, Jerry Lee Lewis, Trent Resner, Norah Jones, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Metallica and more)
Amos Lee, Keswick Theater, PA
David Gray, Tweeter Center
Audioslave, Borgata, AC
Van Morrison, AC
Damien Rice, The Mann
Eric Clapton, Spectrum
The Eagles, Spectrum
Three Doors Down, Borgata, AC

Probably more but that's all I can come up with.

WOW.......dates may not remember.
Can tell you my first show was
STYX when I was in 8th grade at Rutgers in Jersey
I remember going to Shea Stadium for the Who's FINAL tour when I was in High School
I remember being in 10th grade and going to see ACDC and getting on stage.....

I went every summer to the Garden State Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey (it is now PNC I think) and going to Jones Beach
saw
Billy Joel
James Taylor
Jackson Browne
Rod Stewart
just to name a few over the summers

I also have seen Springsteen.
I saw him first at the Stone Pony in 1980 I think when I was still to young to get in but was snuck in.....he was just doing some acoustic stuff and having fun........that was just amazing.

I have seen the Police and REM and Bon Jovi and U2 all at stadiums..........in Philly and in Jersey.

(if you did not guess was raised in Jersey)

My fav shows thus far have been

James Taylor in the Berkshires
REM at Rutgers (before they were famous)
U2 on their tour they did after Joshua Tree
Springsteen any time but I love his tour he did by himself after 'Devils and Dust' and he played the harpsicord(sp).
I-Threes and I forget where we saw them. They are amazing. I love Judy Mowats's voice
Willie Nelson and Family

It is funny you started this topic as my sis and I would talk about this when she was going thru chemo in Sept, we used to sit out on the deck at night and talk and we always talked about shows we saw.

She was into Echo and the Bunnymen, Paul Young, BananaRama, REO Speedwagon and Tangerine Dream and all these acts that started out on MTV in the early 80's. In fact she was the one I went to see REM with at Rutgers outside on a big field.....
I miss those days.......

Also went to see alot of jazz artists play NYC......that I miss alot

They played most of the Cape Cod
local bars back in the 80's.

I'm pretty sure I'm missing a few
I was a child of the 60's & 70's so forgive my
"brain skip"!!!

Enjoy,

I'm jealous of all of you so far! I'm too cheap to buy concert tickets! Here are the ones I can remember though (not an impressive list):

The "concerts" my family dragged me to when I was little:
Statler Brothers
Charlie Daniels
George Jones
Mandrell Sisters (Barbara Mandrell)
Ronnie Milsap

My teen years:
Rick Springfield
The Beach Boys
Alabama
Kenney Rogers
John Cougar Mellencamp

Adult years:
Some "Hair Metal Band" (don't remember who but I'm pretty sure I had a good time)
Air Supply
Tracey Lawrence
The Beach Boys
George Jones (again, and again)
Van Halen (Van Hagar)
Tom Petty
Kenny Chesney (2 nights in a row)

That's all I can remember for now!
