SOTB II Trip Report - Day 7 - Landlubbers
Wow, Day 7 already. Around Tuesday, we were thinking, wow, the week is going by nice and slow, but by Thursday, it was "OMG, where did the week go?" After a year of planning and "talking", it was almost over. But that's a couple of installments away.
Thursday was another early morning for me -
"Red Sky in morning, sailors take Warning"
B-as-ur loves Cinnamon, so that was the beach of choice. One small problem - everytime I visit Cinnamon, it rains. I shared that little tidbit with my sistah's and lucky for me only one of them suggested that maybe I should go somewhere else (she was just kidding - weren't you?), the rest decided it wasn't me that was cursed, it was hubby - sounded good to me
B-as-ur and Sybil had quite the assembly line making sandwiches for lunch (a missed Kodak moment), packed the coolers, grabbed chips, cookies and anything else that looked like it should be eaten and off to Cinnamon we go.
We get to Cinnamon, park and head toward the beach, should we go left? right? left? right? left? - we went right and found a nice spot to make camp.
It didn't take long before we hit the water (I don't think Sybil every came out)
It was a typical SOTB II day - sipping, swimming, snacking, snoozing - you get the idea.
We remembered the iPod speakers enjoyed the SOTB II playlist

It was a great day - or at least started that way. About an hour later, the big grey clouds moved in - and then it RAINED!!
(I must reverse this curse). Some stayed in the water while some of us hid under trees, covered things from getting wet, and just waited. It only lasted a few minutes and the sun came out - so it was back to sipping, swimming, sunning, etc.
Eventually, the divers joined us and as Maggy explained, the heavens opened. This time it was real RAIN, so we ran back to the cars and headed home.
Back at Oceana Divers updating divey stuff
We decided dinner would be take out and chose Candies BBQ. B-as-ur offered to drive and Sybil and I went along for the ride. About 15 minutes before we left, the skies really opened up - it was raining buckets, cats and dogs, men - call it what you want, but it was raining really, really hard.
We started down Great Cruz Bay Road and the visibility was poor. Sybil was sitting up front and said "can you see the road, I can't see the road - and if you want to turn around, there's enough Cheerio's left"; but b-as-ur kept going. As we turned onto the main road, we thought - oh good, some lights. Oh, but we didn't like what we saw - water was just gushing across the road and cars were driving in the middle - "Stay Left guy, other left, LEFT, LEFT, LEFT" - phew, that was close. Then there was a SPLASH as water came up over the hood of the car (hmmm, was there a Flash Flood warning no one told us about?). Eventually made it to Candies, got our food, got totally soaked, and somehow made it back home - safely. Thank you b-as-ur!!
Dinner was great, we were stuffed (nope - no food porn). Which is better - Candies or Uncle Joes?? Don't think we ever decided that one overall, but Candies makes some kick ass coleslaw - YUM!
After dinner, we tackled the "let's figure out the money thing"; it was quick and painless. And eventually we were all off to dreamland.
Despite the monsoon, it was another great day. Will I return to Cinnamon? Yup!!
PS - we found out the next morning that the SPLASH was caused by a giant pot-hole.

Hi PAGirl. The 3 upper level King rooms are pretty equal with their own bathrooms. The lower level King room is huge and has a large dressing area and a large bathroom with double sinks and separate toilet room and a large shower with a window. The lower level queen room is smaller, but has its own bath. The lower level twin room is smaller as well, but does have its own bath. I would have been happy with any of the rooms. I probably would not want to share the Q room or the twin room (unless it was with hubby of course). One girl in our group got the Q room to herself, no one used the twin room and the rest of us shared the king rooms. Hope that helps. I have a video tour of the villa if you are interested!
