It sure looks like it's upside down, but where is the head? To me it looks like the head is gone. How many legs does a lobster have?

The legs come out of the body(head), not the tail

Of course

but does the number of legs correspond to what a lobster have? Trying to identify it.

MrB, I think you are right. I have been looking at pictures of alive lobster, and they have 10 legs. They also have white spots like on this photo.
So, this is probably what's left of an ex-lobster
