Fantastic! I can't wait to get there and do some SandScrit myself now. We are leaving from BWI at 6 AM Friday morning, with Friday nite in St. Thomas. Taking the ferry from Red Hook over to St. John Saturday morning. Maybe we can persuade the guys to let us stop to write in the sand when we dock there!

The bad news is that because of our various schedules, this turned out to be a morning installation instead of an afternoon event, so now we'll never know how many Presidentes it takes to mount a web cam. (People who live here and have to actually do stuff do not in fact get to drink beers at 9am, despite what people may think.)
Everything went smoothly. We got most of the job done, although we will adjust the view and the focus and the night-time snow factor later.
We had fun, but my pictures aren't too exciting. I'll post them anyway and hope that maybe Ben took some other photos.
Here they are.
"Men at Work".
Here are "The Elusive Ron" and Ben. Ron is wearing the red shirt, and for those of you who do not recognize Ben without his prescription snorkel mask, he is wearing the white shirt. They are discussing The Plan.
They think we will need the essention tool, a ladder.
Ron said "I think we should just go for it." We all agreed. Let's mount that camera right now.
"Uh-oh. What do you think this piece does?"
"This looks good. I think it goes like this."
That's all I've got for photos.
A high point of the event was when Ben said "This isn't a bad gig. It's alot nicer here than it is in Chatanooga right now." I looked around and it was pretty darn pleasant on that balcony. There was even a breeze today, which was a refreshing change from the summer heat we've had recently. So overall, not a bad morning.
We'll let you know about the details of the Wednesday launch event as soon as we have the itinerary together.

It WAS a beautiful day today, Mary Beth.mbw1024 wrote:looks like a great day on island!
Hey Ruth.. will the camera turn some times so we can see you in the Annex
Ron wants to be able to turn the camera around for special events like The Festival Parade. I feel that we should get the basics down first, like cocktail parties on the beach.
