Coral Bay comes to Delaware

Post by bag »

Barbara, Jack and Erin Royal long time residents of the Virgin Islands have opened a great eatery in Georgetown, Delaware. Barbara and Jack had been on Saint Thomas and Saint John for about twenty years. She had been the manager of Miss Lucy's in Coral Bay. It was great fun talking to her about when "when Sibs was Sibs" and "The East Coast Bar and Grill" had the best burgers on the island.

If you like a Roti, I would highly recommend this funky place which is located between Georgetown and the Beach area right on Route 9. If you are not into island fare, there were many lower slower Delaware favorites such as crab cakes and lobster rolls. Everything that came out of the kitchen looked great. I wish them a lot of luck in their new venture. I know Georgetown will never replace Coral Bay in their hearts but it is great for those of us who can only get to the island a couple of weeks a year.

Thanks bag for the heads-up on this. We will be in Lewes, De next week for thanksgiving and are planning a Friday lunch at Coral Bay which happens to be 10 or so minutes away. Looks like a roti will hit the spot then. Mmmmm......
