Jost Ferry
Jost Ferry
We have decided to take the ferry to Jost on our upcoming trip. Trying to save some cash by not taking a full daysail. We have never taken the ferry before or even been to Jost so have a couple questions.
1. The ferry runs friday through sunday and starts in Red Hook, then stops in STJ and on to Jost, am I correct in that? We are staying on STT so picking up the ferry there is obviously best.
2. We have never parked at Red Hook, is there enough parking so we can leave our jeep there?
3. I know all the places on Jost (white bay, Foxys, etc.) but are all those places located near where the ferry docks or do we grab a cab?
4. The ferry leaves at 3pm from the schedules, about what time should we begin to venture back to the dock?
5. Its $40 round trip per person, does that include customs charges or are those extra?
And finally, any advice in regards to the Jost ferry or Jost itself would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

We just took the ferry a couple weeks ago.
1. Yes, take the ferry from Red Hook if you are staying on STT.
2.There is parking in Red Hook at the ferry terminal or up behind Marina Market. They are both $10 for the day.
3. Foxys is somewhat near the ferry dock so you could walk, but you will need to grab a cab if you want to go to White Bay.
4. We were at the dock by 2:45 or so and the ferry was a little late, but not by much. If you take a cab over to White Bay, arrange with your driver to come back and pick you up.
5. It's now $60 round trip, which includes all fees.
Have fun, you will love it!

Not the OP here but thanks for the response mrscaptainjay. My husband, teen daughter and I will be doing the exact same thing in a couple of weeks and I'd forgotten about being able to park behind Marina Market.
When we first visited two summers ago we did a daytrip to the BVI's with Limnos and it was definitely one of the highlights of our trip but this is more of a budget trip so we're doing the ferry to Jost this time instead (I would have liked to try NHII this time but that would blow the budget
