Trip change info you need to know
Yo...Guess what? My original reservation was changed to more than 90 minutes from my requested and booked trip. The law states that I can cancel with a FULL refund which I just did. I booked back in April for our Nov trip. Went through Orbitz for $791.58 for two tickets including fees. The original trip was Dulles to San Juan then to St Thomas. Left at 8:15 arrived at STT at 3:10. Then the American change that stopped the San Juan connection that had us leaving at 6:00am to Miami with a 3 hour lay over then on to STT at 3:25. I just booked United direct from Dulles to STT. Leave at 8:39 arrive at 1:33. $816.60 round trip And I can use miles to upgrade to the front of the plane. No charge for luggage also. Lesson is that there are rules we don't know about until we challenge the system. God is good...God bless....Bill

This is good to know about. We booked our travel as far in advance as we could for our Thanksgiving trip. I know that with oil prices skyrocketing, we would only see the cost go up. We endured several changes, and they finally changed us from our original plan to one that took us home to a different airport than we were leaving from (leaving BWI, returning to Reagan National!) and that did it. I have made a point of not flying National airport as the short runways there scare the heck out of me at landing, and we could have booked a cheaper flight when we first planned it if we had chosen National airport! When I mentioned this on this forum, I was told that they had to change that for me. I was so glad, I didn't know I had any recourse for this insult. Change it they did, and we had a much better flight schedule. I wouldn't think of planning a trip to St. John without the help of this forum, ever.
Thanks Bill!
