The half truths from both sides in the campaign

Post by jmq »

From nonpartisan factcheck.org - real interesting when compared to some of the ranting done here...

I don't put much stock at all into FactCheck. Here's a blurb from the "About Us" section of their website:
The Annenberg Political Fact Check is a project of the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania. The APPC was established by publisher and philanthropist Walter Annenberg in 1994 to create a community of scholars within the University of Pennsylvania that would address public policy issues at the local, state and federal levels.

The APPC accepts NO funding from business corporations, labor unions, political parties, lobbying organizations or individuals. It is funded primarily by the Annenberg Foundation.
Isn't that the same foundation that Obama and Ayers served on the board of?

FactCheck is very biased when it comes to gun issues...they were in 2004 and this year they portray Barack Obama to be much more moderate on gun issues than he really is.

The Annenberg Foundation has also given money to the very anti-2nd Amendment Brady Campaign, so it's pretty clear that they have a political axe to grind.

I can't vote as a Virgin Islander residing here in the islands. I have been reading the rantings on many of these threads. I find it very interesting that every time something like this fact check s told about, you guys take off to discredit it. Down here we call that "a plaster for every sore", an argument to rebuke anything said. Just one click on Google and up comes this about McCain and Annenberg.

Looks pretty even to me. Can't wait until Tuesday as I said before.

Of course you don't. Shocking.
Then please provide a link to any other non-partisan fact check site, because you have no credibility left whatsoever. None. Zero. Zilch. Squat. Nada.

I don't believe Fact Check to be impartial. I am allowed to be of that opinion, correct?

You are absolutely entitled to your opinion. My point was merely that it your opinion ight be better informed if you read the article you sought to comment on. The article did criticize both camps for hyperbole and unfounded ads. Just saying, it might be an interesting read.
