Need Princess Bay underwater pic....
Like Cptnkirk,I'm limited on pics.So this puts me in a pickle-no not our On-line Pickle
Do we have any underwater pics from Princess Bay? Parafins

HELLO FROM MICHIGAN...
Pickle can't un-pickle you, parafins, but Pickle can post.
With liamsaun's absence and Maggy & sea-nile heading to St. John, we could be a bit short of pics here, and hope other folks step in
.
Princess Bay - It was rather curious (mangrove) snorkeling. Kinda creepy in a way... or maybe it's just Halloween.

Have a nice weekend, you all, and a fabulous time on St. John to you folks headed there.

Have never seen one but would be cool to find one someday.wishwewerethere wrote: Did you, or anyone else here who has snorkeled there, ever see any sea horses? I would love to go there for that reason alone
Princess Bay isn't our primary snorkel spot but is nice to drop by for a different kind of snorkeling experience.
Maggy, have a wonderful trip and don't forget to amuse us with freshly taken underwater shots when you get back

Princess Bay is on East End Rd. (Route 10) past Brown Bay Trail driving from Coral Bay. The road runs right along the bay and you see the mangroves lined up between the road and the water. Just park your jeep off the road. Entrances to the bay are limited but there are a couple of spots you can get into the water.

loria, I just posted about the camera I use on the other thread called "Pictures":
http://www.virgin-islands-on-line.com/f ... php?t=9251
I like my Canon with its housing. It captures colors pretty well for a point-and-shoot camera in my opinion. When I take close-up shots, I try to get close to subjects as much as I can and use a "macro" setting (someone here called me kind of crazy for doing that underwater... was it you, jmq?
). I like capturing details as much as I can - like those curious tiny eyes of the conch.
I have to admit that I am very patient when taking photos underwater... well, in general too, so that helps a lot.
Thank you everyone for your kind words - looks like my patience has paid off
