It's like leaving a quarter as a tip for bad service. It says you didn't forget to tip, you just didn't think the "service" warrants one.SJfromNJ wrote:In my opinion, it sends a message. It says I am not satisfied with what you are giving me and I want something better. They will get the message if enough people reject mediocrity. I look at it like this, I am saying "these guys are unacceptable to me, you will have to work harder for my vote."
But do they actually keep numbers on how many people wrote in obscure names?
I don't think you're going to attract any trolls to this thread... I'll personally stomp all over 'em! LOL!jmq wrote:Sorry CG - didnt want to sully this thread or attract any trolls to it. Just an FYI.
But I am glad you brought that to my attention as I've only been scanning the other threads. That guy is bleeding desperation.

See? That's what I'm talking about! It makes me crazy!

CG, maybe some one an explain why everybody is making Palin the president of the USA? Do they know something I don't about McCain? Evryone has him one foot in the grave.....I really doubt that he is in that bad of health.
As far as being "old" and dimensia setting in, Reagan was pretty bad off long before he got out of office, and nobody even knew it.
I'd say Palin has about a good a chance of being president as Biden does......it'd be about 50/50 odds.
My vote has already been cast, so I am just reading all of these posts for the entertainment value.
Good luck on your decision.

I think that's what scared me about the whole thing, Bert. We as the American people didn't know how bad Reagan was. Remember all the jokes about his testimony on the Iran Contra affair -- he just kept saying "I don't remember," and at the time we all thought he was being slick or evasive. Now that we have historical accounts, it's apparent that he was progressed with his Alzheimer's as president. While his staff did a great job helping him out, that's still disconcerting to me. And, reports now indicate that they came very close to invoking the 25th amendment on Reagan in 1987.CariBert wrote:

Bert - From the very beginning I've had a problem with the comparisons between Palin, who is running for VP and Obama, who is running for the top spot. It should be between McCain and Obama instead.CariBert wrote:CG, maybe some one an explain why everybody is making Palin the president of the USA? Do they know something I don't about McCain? And I do have some reservations regarding McCain's age, but I also don't believe he has one foot in the grave. The dementia thing is also to be considered, but how can you basically discriminate against the man for what might happen. If he was showing signs now, I'm sure we would all take that very seriously.
CG, There is a highly qualified staff of medical personel in charge of making sure the president is in good health. They do a great job, think Cheney, and I have the feeling that if something were amiss at this stage of the game with McCain, we would know about it.
True, Palin and Biden are not running for the presidency, they are merely who the candidates chose as their running mates. If you have any confidence in your candidate, you should have enough trust in them about their decision for a running mate.
I just happen to think that Biden is nothing but a "yes" man, and I don't think a motivational speaker is going to run this country very well.
