best morning light for photography?

Post by loria »

can you folks (especially the photographers among you--of which there appear to be many-- seeing all the excellent photos posted! :D )
give me your opinion which beach has the best morning light (9-ish?) ?

thanks

Hawksnest is great. I think it is the first Northshore beach to get sunlight, also in the early a.m., it is rarely populated.

JMQ is a good "light" man. He can probably offer some other good suggestions.

Ya, I agree with Vick - Hawksnest is turned a bit towards the east.

I like the light on the flowers first thing in the morning on Bovocoap Point out Hart Bay way. They almost look back-lit

Vick and Rick make good suggestions.

I also like the early morning light on Trunk too, but before 9 due to crowds. The beach is wide enough so it is all not shadowed, although if you were shooting portrait stuff, having people in shadow and using fill flash could work nicely on Trunk or anywhere on the North Shore.

Leave early. The road in was hammered by Omar. It's slow going (unless it has been regraded).
When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.
