Road Construction?
I noticed in the St. John Tradewind news that there was planned road construction to begin next month at the roundabout, and there would be some road closures.
I am not sure where this is and what kind of construction is planned. We will be in St. John next month, and I was wondering if anyone had any information on where this construction project is and what kind of road closures there will be.

This should be interesting....since they have closed one way down the road that leads by the Lumberyard already, put a stop sign (not yield) by the fire station/school yard, and nobody really seems to care. As far as I can tell, people are still ignoring the signs and driving the way they used to. I haven't seen anyone turn down the closed road in a little while, but it is really hard to teach us to do something new. This intersection was probably the most confusing one I've encountered BEFORE the construction even started....so who knows what will happen. As far as when it will start.....I am guessing (only a guess) that they will probably start on time. The people working on the project do not look local, so maybe they are on stateside time still???
And .... this is why we are staying on the Coral bay side of the island in December and next June. I love to stay in the Choc Hole area because it's convenient to everything but with all the Pond Bay development and the traffic circle construction I decided it would be too much like Northern Virginia to feel like vacation.
Definitely looking forward to spending my time and money in Coral bay.
I just love how they waited unitl high season to hit this project hard.
Ahhhh.... island time

*Another fine scatterbrained production
I've just been trying to wrap my head around how you go around it, and I haven't figured it out yet. I'm sure our villa greeter will teach the girls who go meet her, and I will find out in 10 short days.
I figure even with construction, paradise won't be too bad. And, it's Coral Bay next year. I might even take a deposit check to Jared on our sail!

Thanks, everyone! It looks like we will be playing it by ear in a few weeks when we get there. I hope the person who greets us for the villa will know what to do. If not, we might find ourselves just driving around in circles.
I am so glad this forum is here for us. It has been such a help planning our trips, and all of you guys are so helpful and fun.
