Lex, that's really interesting. Lulu mentioned in another thread (or was it this one... it's hard to tell where one stops and the next one begins) that there were people in her state (Tennessee) that are the kind who would want to murder Obama. People scoffed at her and blamed her for bringing racist issues into the discussion. Now look... you posted exactly what she was talking about. Not only that...it was even in Tennessee!

Yes, my coworkers and I were just talking about how lucky we are to live in a state filled with racist bubbas.

I'm mostly just worried that people will see this as a reason to not vote for Obama. I will remind people that crazies will try to kill people because they are CRAZY, not because they are Democrat or Republican. Hinckley shooting Reagan comes to mind...

For some I think it's less a matter of being crazy than of being filled with hate. Either way it's dangerous.

On a similar, but slightly different note...does anyone have any concerns about the days after the election? Now, before you laugh, I'm talking about immediately after when one candidate has been elected. I won't be surprised if we don't know for days actually, but once a decision is made, I have concerns about emotional responses. Emotions have run high during this whole process and I'm actually concerned with how the more radical people may behave on either side of this equation. It's just different statements I've heard in many different settings.

Just wondering if these thoughts have crossed anyone else's minds.

This post has certainly provided some _____ (place your own adjective here) entertainment, but seems to have barely touched on the concerns of the original poster. So Jorge, has any of this helped you come to a conclusion? I really am curious, not trying to stir the pot! :?

I'm worried what will happen if Obama goes into the eve of the election leading in the polls and ends up losing. If the "Bradley effect" actually occurs, it is sure to cause anger...and rightly so.

Except that, in 2004 all of the exit polling on election night pointed to a Kerry win. That can happen to anybody. If the polls are within 5 points on election night eve, it's anybody's ballgame.

I do fear nationwide racial wars/looting that will make the Rodney King days seem like Disney World.

No doubt...It's funny how the stock market has really tanked in concert with Obama taking his lead in the polls.
