Hey Cypressgirl....I appreciate your thanks....but the truth is my kids and wife deserve the thanks....heck, I was having the time of my life....you know how much a civilian has to pay to do some of the things they asked me do? (uh, until I got burnt out......it's a hard life on the body....and I was grateful to see it end at 20.) Now I have a lot more fun....still get to play with my military friends only as one of the dirty rotten slimey contractors now....making a good deal more money...and taking a much less hectic view of the typical work day.

A good friend of mine is married to a Major in the Marine Corps...she and her husband have three kids. They currently live in Okinawa but have been all over of course. She’s nearly 37 and has yet to live in a house she can call her own. I am pretty much in awe of her every time she has to pack up the entire family and move...getting their dog to Okinawa was an absolute nightmare. Military families truly have my admiration for what they do!

It is so easy to be righteous when speaking in hypotheticals, much much much more difficult when faced with a really difficult, painful, real decision.

This is why I don't think men, in general, should make decisions that they could never ever face. No uterus, no opinion. Maybe that is extreme, but that's how I feel.

Hell, when I found out we were having a son I told my husband I would NOT be making the decision about circumcision - I could not make that decision, I didn't have the equipment and could not fathom making that call. No way, no how.

Like a friend of mine (who shall remain nameless) and I like to say we are pro death in all forms. We are joking, of course.

I am for putting people who commit heinous crimes to death.

I am pro-2nd amendment but also for reasonable gun control, i.e. you should have to 1) know what the heck you are doing with said gun and 2) submit to a comprehensive background check. I am for people, opposite or same sex, having the same legal rights that I have. I am not for making a church sanction or perform same sex "marriage" but God bless those who do. It is a separation of church and state issue. Unless you are comfortable making divorce illegal don't get on a moral high horse about the sanctity of marriage.

Again flip...happy the goodwill lasted for about 10 minutes.

I have said that I think abortion should be left in the hand of woman/doc only in the cases of rape/incest, or risk of death to mother.

I happen to not think it should be a legal form of birth control, which is what Roe v. Wade provided.

Again, is it not true that only 1% - 3% of abortions happen due to health issues? The remaining 97% of abortions take place as a means of birth control. I don't need to have a uterus to know that is just plain wrong.
