Here's a warm and fuzzy story
I really don't think I've been abrasive. I think I have a different point of view than you and a few others, which make my posts stick out like a sore thumb.California Girl wrote:See? There you go again being mean. You opinions are as welcome as anyone else's, but not if you shove them down everyone's throats until they are sick to death of seeing your name on the forum. I don't think it was a "stretch" at all. EVERYONE'S opinions are welcome, but yours have just been too caustic. Thanks for toning it down some, but you still had to get your little barb in didn't you?soxfan22 wrote:Well, that's probably a bit of a stretch, no?California Girl wrote:everyone's opinions are welcome here. Anthony! Lock this sick thread once and for all!!!
And when there are people telling me to basically stop posting, well then no, I don't think my opinions have been welcomed here. I am a dissenting voice amongst an army of liberals.
Again, I will tell you that there are many, many conservatives lurking here who do not post their opinions because of the way I have been treated.
I am actually a good guy...Like stuart smally said, "people like me". You just don't like my world view. That's fine - but I would never try to silence you because I don't agree with yours.
Maybe like JMQ said - I should go to my room and not post for a week...I've been a bad, bad boy.

No need to get lost in mindless facts and details.

Oh man you didn’t get that either. When that suggestion was made in the context that I made it about taking time off to enjoy your newborn, it was actually heartfelt because I was speaking from personal experience.soxfan22 wrote:

My daughter was also born just weeks before another “game changing” election on 9/22/92. But man o man, for at least a week after she was born, I was literally floating on air and the last thing I would want to do would be to ruin that buzz by discussing politics.
But I guess that’s just me. I'm sure you might argue that it made you more passionate about it because you are concerned for her future, etc. etc. To each his own. Sorry (but not surprised) that you misunderstood.

I am truly sorry for awakening this thread. I can now see why it was left for dead. I also was unaware that Anthony requested restraint in political postings.
While I know I might well regret this I would like to ask Sox to please tone it down. You are giving long time conservatives like myself a bad name. While I can understand your frustration, please take a deep breath. Imagine what it is like to be Joe Liberman and having to listen to Ted Kennedy. You will convince no one of your views with screams and attacks. I will now exit the OT forum and keep myself occupied on the real reason for this fine forum, USVI travel.

"got a drink in my hand and my toes in the sand"
Please, provide proof of where I ever screamed and attacked anybody on this forum? I don't even know how to scream on the Internet, other than typing in bold. Don't think I've done that though.toes in the sand wrote: You will convince no one of your views with screams and attacks.
You guys keep saying I'm caustic, abrasive, etc...Where? Please provide the quote from me that is abrasive or caustic.
And if you do, I will be able to find the same from the other side.
Nobody here has been impassionate about these topics, and that includes me. I just don't confuse passion for abrasiveness.
To me, Michael Savage is abrasive and completely over the line. I can't listen to him. I don't think I am anything like Mr. Savage.
