warm drinks... hot rum drinks?

Post by sea-nile »

I am going to an outside bonfire Fall type party tonight at a farm with hay rides and all of that fun stuff. Never mind that the adults go on a hay ride later bar to bar until 2 am (I never do that one).
Anyway, I think I will freeze my you know what off and the idea of having beer does not appeal to me.

Does anyone have any hot rum or whatever drinks (that aren't too sweet) that I could put in a thermos? I don't want a hot chocolate drink, but a different type. I was thinking tea and rum of some sort. Any recipes?

Hey No Tan Lines, where's that gluhwein recipe?

sea-nile, this is a seriously good and seductive easy recipe. It encourage some adult behavior on our ski trip!

Hi Sea:

I was at the liquor store yesterday and saw some pumpkin and gigerbread liquor. Both bottles came with receipe cards and both had warm receipes. The gingerbread liquor looked YUMMY!!

XOXO

funny this should come up. I'm not feeling good - like I'm getting sick. which can't happen because I'm going away on Wednesday! Soooooo I reached for the apple cider in the fridge and kicked it up with some spiced Rum from New Orleans (thanks Elizabeth!) :)

It's gooooooood.... and I'm sure will cure what ails me!

How about mixing up some Irish Coffee, only using rum instead of whisky. I ordered that in a bar a few months ago and set the bartender back on his heels with my request (is that so weird??). It was GREAT!! Instead of Irish Coffee, it could be renamed St. John Coffee!
