Just bought "LUCKY OLD SUN" yesterday.
Put it in last night around 11pm, while
house was quite.

Ended up playing it twice all the way through!
BEST MUSIC I HAVE EVER HEARD FROM KENNY! If you listen to the words and read the
stories on the insert you'll know what I
mean.

Now here is the problem...On last thread
about Kenny I said " IN LOVE WITH THE MUSIC-
NOT THE MAN )! NOW I'M IN LOVE WITH THE MAN AND THE MUSIC
OH WELL, I'M EATING MY FORMER WORDS...CHOMP-CHOMP !

Sherri...I have to agree with you. I like it very much and I loved reading the stories inside about the songs.

I also liked seeing the pictures of Jost Van Dyke.

Good CD.

It physically pains me to bump this thread, but I have to make a confession:

I bought this CD on iTunes Tuesday, and I keep listening to it. I can't stop.

I hadn't paid much attention to anything about it, and I was expecting something totally different. I think it's more that I'm "homesick" than the whole KC thing. I just listen to the songs and look at the pictures of Jost and hold out hope that maybe going to St. John in a few weeks will help me heal my heartache, just like it did for KC.

I just see myself on the beach with some rum punch and a book listening to this CD.

I want to know if Trinidad Charlie, one of the great STJ characters, really does shots and reads Hemingway.

I was just listening to that song and wondering that myself.

I might like this better than Be As You Are, but I think it's just because I am at a different place in my life.

According to KC himself, that song was based on a true experience. He said he sat in a bar the better part of a day, just himself and Charlie, reading that book. I don't know if Charlie is his real name, but the incident did happen.

It was on GAC the other night. I got the CD in the mail the day it was released, and it also has the video of "Everybody Want to Go to Heaven" and another video. I am downloading them this evening. Pretty darn good album.

KC never said the guy was named Charlie! The song says "Trinidad Charlie," the name of a real STJ person-is/was he "our" Trinidad Charlie, the hot sauce entrepreneur and STJ character?

Trindad Charlie and Charlie are one in the same.
He does spend time at the place Kenny was chillin with him at.
He also does like to read and well versed in many things.

I bet Charlie will become as well known as Ivan......:)

i love this cd too! it made me so "stj-home sick" that i'm looking into squeezing in a trip before thanksgiving for a quick fix before next summer. the islands helped me heal a broken heart in the past and this cd brings me to that time and thankful that i had st john to help me through. can't wait to listen to the album driving to skinny's! :D beautiful work!

I can just see it now.....every KC fan in the world is going to be Googling "Trindad Charlie". They will find his Eco-Tent's on STJ and all be booking them thinking they will get a glimps of KC.

Look out Charlie, 1/2 the peeps in this world will be driving your dirt road soon

XOXO
