Leaving out of D.C...Help Please

Post by musicman »

We are thinking of leaving out of Reagan Airport in D.C. rather than our home town in the Twilight Zone. Prices are about 1/2 price difference. $743.00 out of DC. My question is...has anyone driven to DC, found a hotel near the airport that would let you leave your car parked there while you were away and shuttle you back and forth from the airport , all at no extra charge??? If so.....could you be sooo kind as to share the name and location of such hotel? Not looking for a Ritz-Carlton now....a good old Holiday Inn type , preferably $100.00/night or less would be just fine. Thanks for any and all feedback!

I'm stunned that you're paying over $700. for your flight. AA has a bunch of available flights out of Dulles for $338 + taxes & fees, usually around $60.
We paid $268 r.t in November. There are several hotels around Dulles that offer the parking deal, if you spend one night. Some even have airport shuttle service.
When you find yourself in a hole.... quit digging.

Leaving out of DC

Thanks ccasebolt and waterguy. Seems as if because of the holiday weekend, most every hotel is full for the dates we were looking for. Those that have vacancies are too expensive so......we have decided to just get up early and drive straight to the airport ( 2 hours). It will make for a long day of travelling but maybe we can catch a nap on the plane.
Thanks again for your help!

JT,
$743.00 roundtrip is for 2 tickets which is $371.50 each which includes taxes etc. I would be paying close to $750.00 per ticket leaving from my hometown. So....a road trip to DC it is. I think the hassle is worth the difference in dinero.
