Airline/Storm update from the USVI DOT

This information is from the Dept. of Tourism:

1. St. Croix will begin to feel the effects of the storm at 8:00 pm this
evening with the heaviest impact being felt around midnight. Winds will
begin decreasing at approximately 8:00 am tomorrow morning.

2. St. Thomas/St. John will begin to feel the effects of the storm at 3:00
am tomorrow morning with the heaviest impact being felt around 8:00 am
tomorrow morning. Winds will begin to decrease around 11:00 am

3. Based on the information provided at 11:00 am the center would now pass
over St. John.

Airlines:

1. All commuter flights (SJU/STT & SJU/STX) have been cancelled

2. American has confirmed the departure of the 3:40 pm flight this
afternoon from STT.

information and you will be updated as information is received. We apologize
for any information that changes between the time distribution occurs and
the next update.

Ugh, that makes me sick just to think about. Personally, I'd rather wait it out on the island and leave after the fact. I flew through just the tropical wave last Saturday and that was eerie. We couldn't even see the wing for at least 15,000 feet of our ascent.

Thanks so much for the update! Just watched a news update and they said something different. It's hard to get solid info right now. TV2 just said St. Croix is expected to take a direct hit.
