rain-what to do sj
staying at the westin stj. What is there to do if it keeps raining?
Jim, makes very good points.
Some other options:
- Put on your rain gear and hike some of the guts (stream valleys), you'll see some waterfalls
- Drive out to Little Lameshur Bay or East End in your 4WD and have lunch in Coral Bay on the way back
- Go by The Tap Room for some local beers
- Watch the day go by from the Quiet Mon veranda
Cheers, RickG

Agree on posts already. During our rain week, we drank lots, played cards and met lots of great people. Also did the ruins, somehow seemed a little more appropriate in the rain. Didn't see this mentioned, but we also hit Sloop Jones studio, great place and very nice folks. I think you can still go there? Check out their website. Keep an eye on road conditions though, as it is out there.

Read good books out on your deck with a cocktail in hand and watch the rain!
Maybe check down at the front desk and see if the activities staff is setting up anything to do? We got rained out for six days in Bermuda once, and the staff set up diversions in the hotel for the guests--just games, complimentary high tea, etc., but it was something!
Of course with the TS weather coming in I don't know if they will be too busy preparing to organize anything fun...

It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

Grab a book/newspaper, go to the beach bar or hightide, order a drink and a few apps & sit back & relax.
Go to bar (any of them downtown), talk to people sitting arounbd you, prob locals, maybe charter boat captains and crew also waiting out the rain, talk to bartender & relax.
Go to Mongoose Junction, shop & relax.
Play strip poker or not & relax.

I love being outside in the rain and the rain on St. John is so different then rain stateside.......
it is just really nice.....
It will stop for a bit but just enjoy the pace and the peace of the island
