I hereby submit my application to be considered by President Ruth for appointment to the first vacancy as a Justice on the US Supreme Court. My qualifications are as follows:
1. As a child I played on my own basketball Court in my back yard.
2. As a High School student I played on my HS basketball team on our HS Court.
3. When pj and I were first married used to go watch her play volleyball on the local Y volleyball Court.
4. pj and I used to play handball on the handball Court at the local Y.
5. As you can see I have a great deal of experience in different Courts.
6. Am I good and making decisions?--well yes and no.
7. While I hate to admit this on a public forum, I have no problem in wearing a long black dress while on the bench--I might even like it.
8. I would have no problem in appearing before Congress for purposes of confirmation and refusing to answer any questions on the ground they could involve matters which might come before me as a Justice on the Supreme Court.
9. I can write opinions as good as any of those now coming out of the Supreme Court, except they might not have as many footnotes.
10. My mind is open on all issues which may come before the Court and would only be swayed by which party gave me the most money.
11. I would relish the opportunity to have a job that only runs from the first Monday in October to the last Monday in June and has a lot of Clerks to do your work for you.
12. If I were to get this appointment, I could then spend July, August and September on St. John.
13. I have been known to spend some bucks at St. John Spice (wink, wink)--in person and online.
Thank you for your support.
PS-Oh yes, I did go to law school and have practiced law for about 38 years, having been both a prosecutor and defense attorney (not at the same time) and I have practiced civil matters in the State and Federal Courts of Kentucky, but not sure that should count.

How many more days?
CAG, I really like the way you think! I'm so excited there's going to be an inaugural ball. I'll feel right at home. Will you wear your tye die dress? I must start putting together my ensemble immediately.

I'm lining up the entertainment at this very moment, Kenny & Jimmy both said they can play, but I hear that Barbara Striesand is already booked for another engagement.pjayer wrote:CAG, I really like the way you think! I'm so excited there's going to be an inaugural ball.

Of course I'll wear my tie dye dress! It's floor length so it will be appropriate.

Ah Soxfan22, I was so hoping you'd nominate yourself for the position you felt most qualified to assume. But, since you want to be humored and I like to please, here we go.soxfan22 wrote:Yes, please humor me...This should be entertaining!pjayer wrote:OK Waterguy. You're more than qualified.![]()
SoxFan, I believe STJ Ruth isn't interested in playing partisan politics and has opened the nominating process to everyone. Do you have a particular cabinet position you're interested in? If not, I would be happy make some suggestions then let you choose.![]()
In order to maintain balance and prevent the cabinet from falling off the radical western edge of STJ, I would like to nominate Soxfan22 to fill the newly created position of Chief Information and Data Dissimination Specialist. His qualifications include an almost supernatural ability to offer educational, useful, interesting, and, at times, gratuitous facts covering an unlimited range of subjects.
I submit this nomination with the following two caveats, which, if not met, shall result in the immediate withdrawal of said nominee's nomination by the nominator. If nominee wishes to serve in this capacity, he must so indicate by (1) using less than one sentence containing five or fewer words, and (2) demonstrate the ability to exercise self-restraint by not providing any Internet links.
Hope to see you at the ball, Soxfan22. The Painkillers are on me.

P.S. I know I said I'd give you some choices, but this is the best that I can do. It's been a long day. Please feel free to pick another position if this one doesn't interest you. Peace.

News 3 Exclusive Report:
As far as "White House" is concerned, the Chief Exec's new residency will be on STJ, though Soon-to- be President Ruth has requested new digs and they will be known thereafter as the Grateful Shed. She's looking for architects and decorators. Applications being accepted. Reportedly, KC's old home on Peter Bay will serve as the temperary Head Shed. It can only be hoped that the Grateful Shed will be completed before the end of her first term. Applications for the Grateful Shed Head Chef have been halted as virgin- islands on-line's own liamsaunt has apparently claimed the position. Sous-chef applications are still being accepted.

Actually The Grateful Shed already has an architect but I AM looking for help with the decor. I've only bought five new pieces of furniture in my life. (Several of these items came from JC Penney, because they're the only ones who will ship here US Priority Mail.) Everything else was a hand-me-down or came from yard sales, so I will need a lot of help there.
My Mom seems to think I have my Grandmother's china somewhere, but I can't remember where I put it and it wasn't enough for a State Dinner anyway so I'm basically starting from scratch here.
