Woo Wee--30 days out

Post by Knolmom »

Almost forgot the significance of today's date--we have only 30 days to go till wheels up. Just this week we decided on Estate Lindholm for our first three nights before the kids join us at Spellbound. I have always heard that Lauren is a sweetheart and now I can definately confirm that this is the case. When she said she would pick us up at the ferry dock I apologized in advance as I would be of little help with carting and loading our bags. She immediately and without hesitation almost insisted that we mail a box to her in advance, and an additional one that would include a special full size beach chair for me, plus 2 umbrellas. She insists that it will be absolutely no trouble for her to pick it up at the post office or wherever we send it. Can you believe this--even though we are only staying at EL for 3 nights.
What a gem she is!!
Speaking of Spellbound, we are staying 10 nights and will leave for home on the Tuesday of Thanksgiving week. If anyone is thinking of a last minute Thanksgiving getaway--the place is not rented for the remaining 5 nights and I know it is pretty hard to get Thanksgiving week on St John without taking 7 nights. Tuesday thru Saturday usually works out well for folks traveling with school aged kids. Just thought I would mention this to see if it helps anyone out there. And yes, it would help us because if the villa gets rented for these 5 days we will not have to pay the Thanksgiving surcharge for renting during Thanksgiving week-- we have to pay this although we are staying only the first part of the week, I guess because we reserved pretty early and broke up the week for other renters.
I know the next month will go fast, with therapy 3X per week and household renovations in full swing. I will get to the ocean, with my cane wrapped around a floating noodle( secured with the giant rubber bands from our old throw-away cameras)--or bust. It might not be pretty but it will be fun.
I can't wait!!!!

Knolmom - Lauren is AWESOME! She is so sweet and pleasant. You will LOVE Estate Lindholm as the grounds are beautiful! We have stayed there at least two nights every time we have gone to STJ and one time stayed 8 nights.

It is in an excellent location (right there by Asolare) so it is an easy ride to all of the North Shore beaches and an easy ride into town.

If you have any questions about it, feel free to pm me.

I can't wait to hear how you make out on your trip.

Oh, I'm so jealous but happy for you. We love Estate Lindholm and frequently do just what you are doing prior to getting into our villa. Spellbound has an amazing view and I'm sure you're going to have a wonderful time with your family there. I have a feeling that the healing properties of the ocean will work wonders for your rehabilitation. The waiting is the hardest part and yours is nearly over so enjoy ticking down these last 30 days. They go fast and with everything else you're got going they will sail by. Be well. :D

Knolmom, Looks like our visits to EL may overlap for a few days. You'll love it. Looking forward to meeting you!
