Puppies to dogs, cats to kittens, tadpoles to frogs, etc...

Looking at the pics of Flip-flop's new puppy ( ) and Augie's lab has made me think that I would love to see pics of everyone's pets when they first got them and then also now...even if they weren't babies when you adopted them.

Baby Butter

Butter now

She's also a field/hunting lab. We are not hunters we just preferred the look of the field lab to the show labs. She definitely has a ton of energy but she basically sleeps all day while we are gone.

Wow! You don't worry about intruders, do you Bug?

I'll bet you go through some dog chow!

Looks like a gentle giant though!

Nope, I never worry about intruders  People actually cross the street when they see her outside. The funny thing is that she is the BIGGEST baby I have ever seen. She's even afraid of the rabbits in our yard. She runs to me and tries to hide behind me so the can't get her. It's really hysterical to watch.

She eats 4 cups of dry mixed with one can of stew per day. Just 1 big bowl

The best part about her is, she not only scares off strangers, but her slobber keeps my Mother-In-Law away  I guess the MIL just doesn't like 180 lb. drooling dogs:shock:

XOXO

Kaziah is an English Mastiff. The breed standard has two colors - Fawn (light tan with a black mask) and Brindle. Some are born as what they call "Fluffies" which just means they have long hair. In the breed standard it is a genetic flaw but they are beautiful to see! Dispite their size they are extremely loving and gentle. They activity level is very low (basically a couch potatoe). They learn very quickly as they only want to please and their feelings get hurt if you even raise your voice at them. They are great family pets because they adore children and are actually very gentle with them.

The only downside to a Mastiff for most is their sheer size and the fact that they drool. Kaziah really doesn't take up much more room than any of our other dogs and we just keep a drool rag in every room

Most of our cats have been rescues at about a year old. So, I'll post pictures of Jack & Toby, who are approximately 1 yr. 4 mo. old. Still kittens, just not little baby ones. :D You'd never know it from looking at them, but they are brothers, and sooo bonded!

JACK - orange & white, TOBY - grey & white
