Wedding Planning

Post by SanDiegoMark »

A good friend of mine is considering getting married on STJ. She and her fiance have been to St Thomas a lot, but have seen my pictures of STJ :D No specific date set yet, but she was asking me if I had any knowledge or suggestions for wedding planners on STJ or locations etc. I told her I have an "inside track" on such things - thinking of course of you all! I figured more than a few of you have said your vows on the beach on our favorite island. Any advice is very welcome!

I know that Rev. Stu will marry people on STJ and his wife is a wedding planner. You may want to contact them as they are GREAT!! You can check out their web site at www.usviservices.com or e-mail him at stuart@usviservices.com.

XOXO

Your friends will not regret getting married on St John. My husband and I were married June 12, 2003 on Trunk Bay. It was absolutely beautiful. Friends of ours were also married that day but had seperate ceremony. It was just the four of us...I think people get so caught up in planning a wedding that they forget why they're actually there. I would change NOTHING about how we did it...we didn't use a wedding planner just contacted Anne Marie at stjohnswedding.com her website has a ton of information if they're interested in having all the extras. We didn't want anything but her and the beach...it was PERFECT...

I'm not getting married on STJ, but my SOTB II sisters are throwing me a bachelorette party on Jost Van Dyke. Rev Stu is running the boat for us. Too bad Mr. Ksea won't be there or we could just knock out the b-party, wedding and honeymoon all at once
I think the VI's are a perfect location for any kind of celebration. Good luck with the wedding plans!

We used Stacy from Ceremonies http://www.usviwedding.com/ She is awesome and her husband makes amazing cakes (we get a smaller version almost every year for our anniversary). We were married in May 2001 on Trunk Bay and our reception was at our villa - it was wonderful! Best of luck to your friends. Tell them to feel free to PM me with any questions.

Thanks for all your insights! I'll pass all of this information along to her. I believe she is planning about 30 people. Now all I have to do is talk her into both inviting me AND paying my airfare. (Yeah right!)

I was also married there in Villa Mistral in 2002, we used Stacy @ Ceremonies- she was fantastic!! Her husband Shea makes out of this world cakes as well. We highly recommend them whenever we are asked (and even if we aren't!)
