Best Breakfast?

Post by DonnaC »

Where are the best places to go for for breakfast? I know (and enjoyed) Chilly Billy's and am not interested in spending $25 a head at the Westin.

We really enjoyed the Donkey Diner ... though I know they have slightly weird hours. They are closed a couple of mornings I think.

My husband is a total breakfast food fanatic and it met his standards & I had an EXCELLENT omelet.

Not fancy at all, but yummy.

Its in Coral Bay sort of across the street before you get to Skinny's.

definitely trying the DD next time. we went to Chilly Billy's and it was ok but nothing great if you ask me. we stayed at caneel and enjoyed the buffet but that was included in our room rate. if you aren't staying there it's a lot to pay for breakfast.

I'm with waterguy....love Sunday Brunch at Miss Lucy's and having breakfast at JJ's, in the middle of Cruz Bay while watching all the activity is great. We have also gone to Deli Grotto at Mongoose.....you can either eat there (it has A/C) or grab take out for a breakfast picnic on the beach  ....mia

My first job on island was at JJ's for the breakfast shift. I love being able to watch everyone come and go and I love their breakfast burrito. (and a little Cruzan rum cream in my coffee, too)

Donkey Diner :D in Coral Bay - they are closed Monday and Tuesday. Great, great breakfasts (8am till noon I think Wednesday through Saturday and until 1pm on Sunday) along with fabulous pizza on Wednesday and Friday evenings until 8pm, although I think you can buy it by the slice during the day.

Here's another vote for JJ's! Good food and fun people watching!

We didn't like Chilly Billy's.

I love to sit at JJ's and watch the people go by. They have great breakfasts, although the burrito is too big for me to eat. When in Coral Bay Donkey Diner gets my vote for breakfast but coming from the home of some of the best pizza in the world(ask any Yalie family) the pizza at DD was some of the worst I've had. Across from Mooie's there's a place called Mojo's where they serve breakfast. Not the fanciest but a nice place to go. The people who run it our very nice. Now we have to get them to serve Ruth's coffee.

Your pizza experience surprises me - we have one at least once per week and it is yuuummmm :)
Pepperoni with extra pepperoni and extra cheese is our favourite.

I have to say that my favorite breakfast on the planet is sitting in Chilly Billy's with a spicy Bloody Mary and a CB Breakfast Burrito looking out over Cruz Bay and the harbor. I know that the setting is half of it but I do love the way she does the eggs super thin, never runny with jalapeno cheese and wrapped up in a soft burrito and topped with guacamole salsa, guac and sour cream.

Silverheels and I come from the best pizza on the planet state, so we are really hard to impress.

A quick drive into New Haven brings you to a pizza mecca of the universe, in my opinion.

Thanks Marie, I need to take a trip to Pepe's or Sally's soon.

JJ's ... I kept sitting here thinking JJ's ... JJ's ... then I remembered. Best BLT I had in a long time was had there at breakfast time while we were burning time between returning the jeep and waiting for the ferry back to STT for the walk of woe.

My traveling companions all had breakfast and loved it.

So another vote for JJ's too!
