Between drink spillage, dancing, tropical air, and goodness know what else, I can't imagine it will be there for long.
They can probably afford to have the cloth replaced monthly and the table annually!

I bet it doesn't get much action! It will probably be used by the "men folk" when they go out to have their cigars and brandy while playing billiards. The women will be sitting primly inside sipping their tea.

Felt bad about my last post! thought I would throw this out there:

Disclaimer - Nothing against anyone who can afford to stay there, congrats on your success, inheritance, association with someone who can afford it, or whatever. It just doesn't seem to have a feel that would induce a rockin' rowdy good time!

I thought that was pretty funny too! My husband absolutely loves The Beverly Hillbillies (and Green Acres) . He refers to our pool as the see-ment pond, I believe another Jethro quote or from the show, anyway.
Going "home" again October 26th!

Crazy to see it close up, wow.

I found this interesting in the info. Does it mean what I think it means? The parent isn't enough, there also needs to be a sitter or nanny for children?

Children Welcome Yes - only if accompanied by babysitter or nanny, and at the owners' discretion. A notarized liability waiver is required for all children under 16 years, please.

Perhaps I do not understand how "the other half" live (and this is a very real possibility), but I just got the vibe that this place would most likely be frequented by folks who were so wealthy and self-absorbed that they couldn't possibly fathom raising their own children. Judging from reality TV, if you are wealthy even if you don't particularly do anything, you should still have someone to take care of your children for you.

I also found this interesting. I don't know how they could enforce this.

Say, for example in my dreams, that my family rented this house. We arrive with my mom/best friend/etc. in tow and I point to her and say "there is the babysitter."

The rental agency would have no way to disputing this white lie/fib.

The babysitter/nanny clause could also be on there as a kind of deterrent--like the $100 viva package charge we were recently talking about. It's obviously a huge house packed full of expensive stuff, close to the water with an open pool, etc. Plus the layout is really spread out. You might need an extra pair of eyes in a place like that even if you are planning to pay attention to the little ones once in a while.
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.
