We rented from Conrad Sutton a couple of weeks ago. They went over the car with us and marked everything that had even a little scratch. We had no problems when we turned it back in.

I rented from Gallows. I stayed there once before and I really like it. Next time my husband wants to get more toward the middle - unit 10 or 15 and he wants to get an upper.

The name has worn off but it was a small spray bottle of 100% deet titled Super Sportsman or Super Woodsman (something like that). I found it in the hunting section of Wal-Mart. It didn't have an odor but it made my nailpolish sticky. A lot of people were using the orange cans of Off and they still ...

Re: Gallows and Baths

Yes unit 10 is the second on the right. It is a very good location.

We took the boat Breakaway for the trip to the Baths. We just felt that we could have spent more time there and snorkeling.

Keksies Trip Final Part

Day 7: Trunk Bay. I hadn't been the last time I was on St. John and I really wanted to go. Fantastic snorkeling. We spent the whole day and it was great. There weren't any ships in so it wasn't crowded at all. Dinner was excellent at RhumbLines. The mojitos were really good too. Gallows Point http:...

Keksie's Trip Part 3

Day 4: This was the day for the Reef Bay Hike. We had really great bug spray because the mosquitoes were bad but didn't bother us at all. The guide didn't have great bug spray so she rushed us down the trail explaining things on the way. We did spend a little time at the waterfall and the ruins at ...

Gallows Point

We stayed in unit 13B. It is a lower harbor unit. The unit was in good shape. I really like Gallows with the short walk to town, the pool, hot tub and snorkeling right there. The harbor noise didn't bother me, but the noise from town at night bothered my husband. Next time we may stay further toward...

Keksie's Trip Part 2

Day 2: First we headed for breakfast at Baked in the Sun and then got provisions at Star Fish Market. We planned on breakfast at the condo, snacks and some lunches there also. I didn't plan on cooking any dinners at the condo. After putting everything away we snorkeled at the condo. Lots of fish an...

Keksie's Trip Part 1

Pre-trip: To decide where we wanted to go this year I planned three different itineraries and my husband picked which one he wanted to go on. We are in our early 50-s and very active. I had been to St. John many years ago and always wanted to go back so that was one choice. Dominica (still want to ...

I can understand about a drought. We have finally started getting rain here after almost a year of no rain. I will wish for rain for St. John but maybe not a lot while we are there. :

Weather

I have noticed that it looks cloudy when I look at the webcam. Has it been raining a lot lately? We will be there in 2 weeks and I was just wondering what kind of weather to expect. When I was there before it was sunny most of the time with just a quick shower one day.

St. Thomas for a day

We are going to be staying on St. John but want to spend a non-beach day on St. Thomas. I want to take the ferry to Charlotte Amalie. What can we see within walking distance? Is Paradise Point worthwhile? What about Coral World? Anything else not to miss? Thank you.

I take the same approach as Ron L. I have an activity planned for every day we will be there except for the last day which is open for whatever. I don't plan meals but have a list of places to eat and the hours/days if the place is not open all the time. Most of my activities do not take a full day ...
