We have done at least 3 trips in mid to late Oct/ early Nov and it is beautiful, warm water, less crowded. We may miss out on a restaurant or 2 but most are open. I can remember The Lime Inn was closed once...but there are many others to choose from. The one time we actually had to "dodge "...

Thanks, Nancy. I guess I just wanted to hear that! I like to make early morning trips to Trunk Bay and Leinster is a favorite..so I knew I was adding on a bit more of a drive..but then it looks like I could do Centerline straight to Leinster and avoid town if needed. I am very excited and can't imag...

Well, I am about to send a deposit for this Villa for 11/15 thru 11/26. I tried to find No. Shore, Catherinburg but most were taken...or too$$$ dear for this trip. Needed 4 Bdrms. I am accustomed to Great Cruz Bay area but this seems to have easy enough access. Just thought I would post for any comm...

Becky, Just to clarify one more time....the Leinster Shore snorkle may be the spot I consider MY FAVORITE. I have never really seen a "beach" there, we just find a tree to hang our stuff on and identify it by the "3 BUOYS" about 100 or 200 yards out. The area from the buoys in to...

Thank you for those great underwater shots. I have the same camera. You got a great shot of the porcupine fish---one of my FAVORITES--they are so cute. And the spotted drum!, both at Little Lameshur where I have never been.....Now I will have to get out there. I get really excited when I see the und...

I also replaced a flooded OLympus with a Canon Powershot D10 and I love it.Easy to use, great shots and videos. I took it all over Kauai. I actually had a great conversation with Carolyn Rogers who takes fabulous reef pictures on St John. (she has a beautiful book out called Coral Reef Stars) She ha...

Thanks for the feedback. It actually turns out to be a little over budget during THanksgiving, so probably won't happen that week.. I would be happy there, but taking 2 or 3 other people into consideration means I really have to be more discerning. I think that is the hardest part about choosing a V...

Hawksnest Villa pro's/ cons

I just stumbled across this Villa again and don't find many reviews here??? There is good feedback on Catered To and Tripadvisor. The location is so great, price probably reflects NO AC? and perhaps that is really open? No screens in Great room? Is there anything I'm missing cause it looks like a st...

Thank you soooo much for posting this. I am so happy to know the Shelter is recieving attention and support. We have so often stayed at the Westin and I ALWAYS end up feeding the ferals.Saw a litter of fairly young kittens last time and had a long talk with someone from the Shelter. She was feeling ...

Plans keep morphing but 2--3 bdrms max. May be 2 couples, my friends would be 1st timers to STJ. They absolutely LOVE to snorkle. They will be our guests---if this year can work for them. OR: May be my brother & his 2 teens (been here twice and love it. They stayed at Casa YaYa and Cliffside.) M...

New to this forum and LOVING IT!

I just want to say how much I love this Forum. I feel like I've found a worm hole to STJ. I have a new pre-occupation. I hear myself speak when I read the posts about what you love there. Here in California, everyone travels to Hawaii for their island fix. It's beautiful, don't get me wrong, but I h...

Wow, Sunnyledge looks amazing, and I think my friends would love it. I've never spent much time at Frances Bay, but lots at Leinster. It books up quickly too.
I am seriously considering it. Kind of out there, but on the N.Shore and I love that.
Thank you!

I would like the pool for my hubby. He is not a fish like the rest of us and will probably "hang out " more when we snorkle.. But I will check that one out anyway.

I haven't ruled out Morgan Point....but, now I remember..it has no view from the pool.
