Depending how fast you like to hike it is about 25 minutes to walk to the platform from the parking lot at the North Shore Road. The platform view is very nice and there is usually a breeze to cool you off. My wife and I try to minimize our trips to Cruz Bay but we always make time for this hike.

Bordeaux Mountain Road (Route #108) is nothing to be afraid of anymore. It is 95% paved and while you have to be sober to drive it I love doing it each time we are there. You can also get there on Bordeaux Mt. Road from Cruz Bay if you choose. 90% of it is paved with a two minute un-paved area that is pretty easy in a 2WD jeep.

Skyflower (our neighbor) and Monkey No Climb (shameless self-promotion) are higher up the mountain. Both have spas but no pools. There are others near OPH but I can't remember the names.

It is up to you if you want to tip the greeter or the cleaning staff. It is a nice thing to do but it is not expected that you do so however. Each house has its own payment system worked out.

My wife and I use the yellow belts every time we snorkel. They are great when you want to take a break and just bob in the water, need to clear your mask or you get a leg/foot cramp. They are light weight and very easy to use. It also gives you a lot of peace of mind.
