If you want to stay in town I'l second the suggestion for La Tapa. We've never had a disappointing meal there. If you don't mind the drive to the east end I suggest Sweet Plantains. Friday is Caribbean curry night, our favorite.

Haven't tried this one but I do have "The St John App" and it works really well offline. It has a map showing the location of many of the beaches, facilities and a snorkel map. Also has links to restaurants and shops. It does have an online section but it isn't necessary to use the app.
