Re: Casa Bueno or Coral Oasis?

We stayed at Coral Oasis and liked it a lot. There are a few downsides to it, but overall, we were pleased. First, the drive up is VERY rough. It is not paved so you just drive on rocks up the hill. My daughter actually threw up from bouncing around. Second, the bedrooms are not connected to the liv...

Re: Jellyfish?

I was stung on the beach by a hotel on St Thomas. I ran up to the bar and asked the bartender what to do. He gave me vinegar. Pouring it over the sting was very relieving as the pain was intense. We saw a few jellies on St John at Brown Bay but no one was stung.

With that kind of budget, you should be able to get a nice villa, but I'd have to ask how many cars you will be renting so you could be sure to have enough parking space. Here is a villa I've always thought looked nice.

Ha, forgot to share our story. We first came to STJ in 2001 on our honeymoon via a Barefoot Cruise. That cruise line has since gone out of business, but we spent a week island hopping. Our day on STJ consisted of a mountain biking tour to the ruins that started at Maho. We never even went down to th...

These are all wonderful stories, but GraysonDave, yours brought tears. I am so thankful that your daughter is better and signed up for nursing school. Wow! And I love that you won the trip to Caneel. What a deal. Makes me say, "Ain't God good?" But that's the way we talk down here in TX.

grrrrr, cannot stand people who stand on the coral. Seeing the broken reefs at Waterlemon last year nearly ruined my day. Grrrr.

Seems like you had a wonderful day. Love the pictures with the report. I can never see enough pictures!

Blessings,

These kinds of things are always so touchy with my family. Once we rented a beach house and one of my sisters wanted her paying rate adjusted for the amount of time she was actually breathing air inside the house. It was ridiculous. The place rented per week and I didn't want to pro-rate it simply f...

You are having a great tour o' de island! I may piggyback my plans onto what you have done.

Love all the pictures! I have to ask the obligatory question of what camera were you using underwater? You have a nice photographers eye too. I greatly appreciate your photos.

BTW, I don't remember the service time, but we were able to call the pastor that morning and he told us the time. Also, it may be best to park at Lucy's and then plan to have brunch afterward if you go. Parking is limited and we got blocked in which was fine by us since we went to Lucy's. Also, the ...

I posted this same question this time last here. Some of the information on the lists is out dated as several of the churches didn't exist anymore. We ended up visiting the Calvary Baptist Church right by Miss Lucy's. The congregation is all locals and it is small, but we found them very warm and we...

Love your pictures and your stories. We visited the Calvary BC too. The people were oh so lovely and the message was right on. Just a wonderful experience and then we got a sweet Christmas card from them. Really nice. Glad to know you went as well. Then we walked over to Lucy's for brunch. It was a ...
