First Timer Trip Report (part 3 -Pics added)

I’ll add a few pics tonight, but I really have the post vacation blues today, so I need to write about my trip. Villa: As mentioned, stayed at Anchorage Aweigh in Coral Bay. I really like this villa. Great little one bedroom spot for a couple. Lots of nice outdoor space and a great pool and pool dec...

That's what I kept telling myself, I drive in downtown Chicago, I can handle this and the driving was easier than expected. I may need a little more hilly left hand driving before being ready for STT! This week back has been soooo tough. I want to have my morning coffee on the porch swing at Anchora...

First Timer Trip Report (part 2)

BVI Trip. Booked Bad Kitty through Calypso Charters. Had a blast. We checked in at Margarita Phil’s. We parked at “Smith Square” parking lot (I think that was the name). Being from Chicago, “free” parking makes me nervous, I always think I’ll come back to a ticket, a boot, or no car, so I just prefe...

Sounds like a great day.

I lost my ring snokeling in Mexico. Should have been a sign of things to come in that marriage, but that's a story for another time.

I saw it fall off and watched it fall 25-30 feet to the ocean floor.

First Timer Trip Report (part 1)

Woke just before 3 am on 5/21 as we had a 3:30 am cab pickup for our 5:45 flight to Miami. Landed on STT at 2:30. Flights were uneventful. Had a great cab driver who answered questions about the island. Very proud of his home. About 10 minutes into the ride I looked at my girlfriend and said "W...

I have worked with Ali at villa food for my upcoming May trip. She has no flat fee or cost of supplies. Just 20% of the total (minimum of $50, which is quite easy given island food prices) and does have a delivery charge for some locations. Trip isn't for two weeks but she has been great to work wit...

Thanks Pia ! I think I remember someone saying before there is no dusk there, like up here in Michigan. If you've never been in the Caribbean before, you'll notice that the sunsets are much, much faster than we are used to in the Midwest. Being so close to the equator, they don't get that extended ...

These stories are despicable, it boggles my mind how some people act. With that, I do take a little offense to the “ugly Americans” thing. I have spent time at a few resorts that cater to Europeans and they are no better. Cigarette butts EVERYWHERE. Littering in generally seems to be pretty well acc...

Thanks a ton. This great. As a newbie this is so helpful, as I'm struggling to get a handle on where things are, with this whole "no address" thing that STJ has going.

Plus, I'm a map dork. :D

Only 54 more days!

If someone would kindly delete this thread, I would appreciate it. :D My GF occasionally reads this board and if she sees this, I will be out a lot of money as I cancel our St. John trip! She’s been to Mexico and Grand Cayman, so lizards are no big deal, but if she sees a scorpion or a tarantula, go...

I'm a lurker and a 1st timer. Will be there from 5/21 - 5/29. CAN'T WAIT.

Flight, set
Villa, set
Car, set
Boat trip on Bad Kitty, set

Nothing to do now but wait and rank the beaches and restaurants in order of preference and worry about AA messing with my flight times.

No ticker, but T-minus 4 months from today!!

Got my car booked this week (Conrad Sutton - I know the risk of rudeness) and just booked a Virgin Gorda trip on Bad Kitty today.

Don't really post, but read basically every post on here. Noticed that it was the 21st, so I got excited.

Being in Chicago, it's tough to find a location that we can't get a decent priced flight to between O'Hare and Midway, but Milwaukee is only 90 minutes away and a decent option for certain destinations. Haven't pulled the trigger on a flight out of Milwaukee yet, but came close a few times.
