4 bedroom villa on Rendezvous Bay
As a now former owner, I guess I'm free to say this without being guilty of self-promotion, so, check out Morningside Villa. ( http://www.morningsidevilla.com ) Having stayed at a number of villas over the years, Morningside has a combination of view, privacy and proximity to Cruz Bay that's hard to...

Kauai, St. John, Moorea/Bora Bora in French Polynesia
Interesting question. Having been to Bora Bora and Moorea two years ago, Maui 10 years ago, and St. John frequently, my quick impressions are as follows: Best Beaches: St. John. The lagoons surrounding the south pacific islands are breathtaking, but the beaches themselves are not as spectacular. Mos...

Cruz Bay to CA ferry still not operating
Just FYI, as of yesterday the Cruz Bay to CA ferry is still listed as "not operating until further notice." I only mention this again because the only notice posted is an 8 X 11 piece of paper taped inside the ticket both, and even a number of locals were surprised and angered to find they...

Ted not at Tage?
I had heard the same thing (quite some time ago, actually), but as of several weeks ago he was still there. I asked the waiter about it, and he said words to the effect that there had been some "issues", but that they were resolved and everything was back to normal. Point is, I'd certainly...

Looking like a dork in my snorkel vest
Despite being a very strong swimmer, I nearly drown off Waterlemon Cay several years ago when I too gulped a mouthful of salt water while clearing my mask. I was loosing my peripheral vision and seeing spots by the time I managed to stop coughing and catch my breath. I decided on the spot I don't ca...

dingys on the beach
As mentioned above, which beaches have what facilities for dingys should be covered in your orientation before you leave Cruz Bay, but regardless of where you decide to go please be EXTREMELY careful in approaching any beach, even between green and red bouys since swimmers typically don't know - or ...

Limnos trip to Baths
We've done the Limnos trip (way back when), and since done probably close to a dozen on the New Horizons and Stormy Petral/Pirates Penny boats. Limnos is fine, and certainly beats not going at all, but it is a larger boat with many more people, and we've found we prefer the smaller groups and faster...

Remember, that was $1300 in Virgin Island dollars.

Island Time
My theory is that the camera is working fine. All those people - and the ferries - are just on "island time".

Just had dinner there last Thursday night
My wife and I had a tuna tartare appetizer, then the mahi and grilled lobster as entrees. Both were excellent, along with the service and atmosphere. Another great restaurant joins the list of fine places for dinner on St. John. Highly recommended.

STJ in Nov, Dec
My wife and I like to visit during the fall or early winter months, for all of the reasons noted above - prices, no crowds, everybody isn't burned out by an entire season of tourists (yet), etc. Regarding the weather from month to month, some great data can be found at http://www.vinow.com/usvi/weat...
