Dreaded Island Fever defined...when did you catch it?

OK, it's time to come out of lurking since we have a trip planned for July. Our first since 2008. A recent post mentioned Dreaded Island Fever (DIF) so I dug out this definition. It is long but a fun, and actuate accounting of what most of us go through. DREADED ISLAND FEVER Dreaded Island Fever is ...

Check out a one bedroom private villa called Papaya Moon. It has a hot tub and a very private pool, (even if it is a Wally pool) We stayed here our first trip to STJ. While it is nothing fancy, it was very clean and had everything we needed. It is the last villa on a paved road, and easy to get to. ...

B-as-u-r,

Try the TTOL forum, it is all about the BVI's with many sailors hanging out there. They also have a search feature. Here is the link:

Hi Kathy We have stayed on Tortola many times before we realized that we enjoyed St John more. Driving yourself is very do able, just not a easy as SJ. I have used Jerry's Car Rental many times, he's a great guy. He is located in West End and will pick you up at the ferry dock. His number is 284-495...

Here is the follow up.... Just called AT&T, talked with a very nice lady and she removed the roaming charges. The call only lasted probably 30 seconds, no pleas, threats to switch carriers or talking to a supervisor. Painless. With all the taxes removed a savings of $91.98. Thanks to all who off...

Surprise AT&T Roaming Charges

Just got my AT&T cell phone bill that had two weeks of charges from St John on it. All the calls were covered by the plan EXCEPT for 2 calls. Two calls made on a Sunday evening within 10 minutes of each other, were picked up by a tower in the BVI's. The 23 minutes of roaming is $80.27. The per m...

What you describe about the underage situation sounds like what was going on on Little St James, see this link:

If something simular was happening on Lavongo that is a lot of underage violation.

I agree, Andrea is one of the few writers I've read that "get it"

I think if I would have hiked down Reef Bay Trail and then over to Lameshur, I to would walk into the water fully clothed.
