We have arrived, along with the rain!

Post by Nic in KC »

We sooo would not be on the internet if not for the rain! :D
We had a crazy arrival day and I've never experienced a ferry ride quite like that one. Our drive was fun too! Sailview is wonderful and everything we hoped it would be. A nice breakfast at Deli Grotto and now we are watching the rain come down. We need to walk to Courtesy to pick up our jeep, but we are hoping to maybe make it when the rain is lighter.

Looks like we'll have a few crazy weather days and then hopefully we'll get to see the sun. We may have more than a couple of drinks in the next few days! It is different traveling down here in the off season. Good, but different. I think we may try to do a hike today if the rain allows. We'll just play it be ear and enjoy the time away.

More later!

A HA! I thought one of you forum people brought the rain, but now I know for sure!!! There is a whole lot to do when it rains here, but the Beach Bar is a nice way to waste a rainy day (and yourself) away.

We just left yesterday and really tried to bring the rain with us, but guess it didn't work.

Have a great week and I hope the sun starts peeking out for you soon!

Sorry about the rain, but at least your there and not here. Hope it clears up and you guys have a great trip.

If you get a chance when you get home, could you tell us a bit more about Sailview, please? Is there a microwave, coffee pot, etc.? I know there's a grill, but am curious what other kitchen/cooking items are provided. How much would privacy be effected if there was another couple in the other side? Thanks.

Hi Nic - So sorry to hear about the rain! I know you were excited to take a trip when it was just the two of you. Luckily you had good weather in St. John earlier this year. I hope the rain goes away before your week is over.

Stay dry!

Bummer....I do hope the rain lets up for you. I agree with pjayer and would love to hear more about Sail View after your stay. I, too, was curious about the possibility of sharing the deck, lack of privacy, etc. if another couple was staying there. It looks like a nice place, though. We'll pray for no more rain for you. If it makes you feel any better, it's pouring here now, too; however, I'm not on vacation, so it's just another day in Florida.... Anyway, enjoy your stay.

I must say, one of our best days was spent snorkeling in the pouring rain out by Waterlemon. The fishies are still there swimming around and you're wet anyways!

Enjoy your trip.

Hey Nic, Sorry to hear about the rainy start to your trip. Better to be there in the rain than back home in the rain, it started here this afternoon and has gotten cooler. Fall has arrivied.

I know you will have a great time no matter what. Leave some rum for us, we'll be down in about 3 weeks
