Alright you Jersey folks - who went, who's going?
What a fun show last night - lotsa stuff from The River, plus some rare stuff and stuff I havent seen him do since the '80s. Nils was on fire. Hard to tell at times who was having more fun - the band or the audience. And who let all those old people into the stadium?

Went Sunday and Monday and I gotta tell you I'm not nearly 59 years old and I'm hurtin' today! Sheesh. Don't know how he does it.
One more for me on the tour Thursday night.
Drive All Night was a killer last night. Held Up W/out a Gun is a 1:58 of pure fun! Never thought I'd hear that one live!

I sent SJfromNJ some youtube videos of his Buffalo concert in March. I'm sure there's other venues posted on there too. I'm a total Bruce fan-first saw him in Buffalo in '84 or '85 and try to catch him everytime he comes through. Best time was when he performed at Darien Lake amusement park at night and sang County Fair; the ferris wheel was all lit up and spinning in the background-it was outstanding!
I'd love to have his energy (and maybe some other stuff too!)

I just read on Bruce's site the set lists for the shows this tour......WOW.......he is really doing alot of his catalogue.
I heard his daughter came on stage this early this week in Jersey and danced with him to 'girl in her summer clothes'

For openers, Out in the Street, Radio Nowhere, and No Surrender was a great 3 song combo.

Nils and Patti were outstanding on Tunnel of Love which was a real treat for me because I think that’s the only tour I’ve missed.
Saint started out real sloppy, but was salvaged by blistering duel leads at the end by Bruce and Steve.
Great to witness Because the Night and the Detroit Medley again.
Missed Danny’s soulful Boardwalk sound on several songs and bright fills on songs like Girls in Their Summer Clothes.
Sound mix was bad at times, Gary’s bass was buried most of the night.
It was a real hoot to see Bruce running around grabbing the song request signs from the audience. Somebody made a pictogram of “car + $ = shoes” that resulted in them playing Drive All Night.
Everybody sang happy birthday to Patti, their daughter and friends sang chorus with Patti during the encores, and Bruce got a huge kick out of the kids in the audience and Max’s 18 yr old son playing drums on Born to Run - he was pretty impressive.
The crew did great work with the video screens.
Despite the venue, they still managed to give off a real bar band vibe. Never saw so many people just smiling and singing along in a long long time.
Re set lists, only 15 of the 29 songs were repeated from the first show. While this resulted in the band sounding less tight at times, it was more than made up by the fun/spontaneity factor.
We took the next day off and went down the shore, drinks and lunch at the Parker House in Sea Girt (nice Cruzan selection), then farm market sweet corn and garden tomatoes at home. Sometimes, New Jersey ain't a bad place to be.

MB we worked full day so got there kinda late, which forced us to park over in the new Xanadu parking deck.
Which reminds me...I'd like to give out a big F.U. to the Meadowlands. You have the audacity to charge $20 for parking then you have the lamest traffic egress patterns ever set up so that it takes forever to exit.
And that Xanadu thing (an "entertainment" complex currently under construction) looks as ugly as sin and reeks of cheap ass low bid construction.
Just another North Jersey eyesore along the turnpike.

He is playing at Gilette Stadium on Saturday night.
John asked me to a Bruce concert for what would have been our first date. I turned him down! I did take him up on the offer to go to a U2 concert a few weeks later though. We finally ended up seeing Bruce a couple of years ago, and it was a great show.
