Back by popular demand....crappy iPhone pics live from STJ
Bayer-set up for the bottle pic: I just shot the top view of the Starfish bag that was sitting on my lap in the Jeep.
Marcia-Husband is here with three annoying women. He needs all the rum in that bag.
Maho WAS good today:

I took mom out on a turtle hunt. For the visual: she's on a tube with a mask, no snorkel.....she just can't...following me while I search. When I'd find one, Id point and she'd come over and stick her face in and snap pics. despite taking tons, she didn't actually manage to get a single shot of an actual turtle. There are lots of nice sand shots and somehow she managed to get an upside down shot of her own face....anyway, the good news is I found about 6 and she DID get to see them.
I have a problem, though. Don't laugh. This is serious
I seem to have a snorkel mask tan line. Kind of like the STJ version of a farmer's tan. It is seriously damaging my newly found "young and beautiful" status. I may as well have a sign on my forehead that says, "Look at me. I'm a dumba$$."
What can I do, girls? Burn the rest to match? Are turbans back in style? Maybe I could move it around every day and make a design?
Suggestions?

I am laughing out loud at the "nice pictures of the sand" - my mother would do the same thing, but I am not sure I could even get her to wear a mask.
I got my first spray tan a few weeks ago for an event - after a bout with skin cancer on my face last year, I am trying to go a little easier on the tanning. It looked pretty good, but in trying to protect my blonde hair from the spray, I too ended up with a strange "tan line" around my face. It was almost a white halo! My husband took one look at me and said "you better do something about that". I used some facial self tanner and a little bronzing powder for 2 days and the problem took care of itself. I don't know if self tanner would even be available on St. John - I mean really who goes to St. John and wants to get a tan in a bottle?
Thanks for the updates. I am living vicariously through them!!

A little off topic, and totally a personal preference, but I kind of like tan lines. If nothing else, they direct me to where I'm supposed to go when the light is a little low.RickG wrote:HAHAHA, tan through snorkel mask?!!
I have to expect this is very temporary. Not nearly as bad as Sweet Christine's only tan line when she comes back from the islands, from her sunglasses.
Cheers, RickG

Hi Vicki,
LOVE those 1st two shots...They go together for sure!
Hubs and I are bringing along my mom in less than 4 weeks and I'm starting to get nervous. Mom can be a "challenge" but I think she is sooo grateful that we're doing this for her I'm pretty sure she'll behave?!! LOL, if not I have only one word for the cure...RUM!
Good Luck and have a wonderful time!
p.s. your husband is brave
Kathy

Great Beach Bar sunset, even with all the haze:

I made my mom drink a painkiller. She doesn't ever drink, mind you. It was funny. Have you ever watched a puppy eat ice cream really fast because it can't help it and then it spends the next 10 minutes pawing at its head because of the brain freeze? It was kinda' like that.

And I was gonna' give you some food porn, but....well...I inhaled it. I am now a card carrying member of the Morgan's Mango Clean Plate Club. (I was going to eat that green onion too, but the waitress was giving me a "look.")
