Where is the Best STT Snorkeling

Post by wecruise »

Where is the best snorkeling on STT? We're adventurous, but have just 8AM-4PM on STT, so STJ is a nogo. Criteria:

1. Avoid crowds (so Coki is out)
2. Place for Grandpa to relax in shade while we snorkel. Maybe a resort that welcomes cruise ship passengers?
3. Reasonable rental car drive from Havensight dock. Sightseeing along the way would be great.
4. Good conditions: water clarity, low wind, sea life...

To me, it sounds like you are describing Secret Harbour. It is quiet, calm waters, very good snorkeling, shade and a beach bar & restaurant. Out on the east end right before you get to Red Hook.

Another option that is quiet with OK snorkeling and a bar/restaurant right there is Hull Bay just past Magens. When we go to Hull there are usually less than a dozen others around.

We'll give it a try. Does the condo resort there welcome day visitors? Is parking a problem at all?

There is plenty of parking at Secret Harbour and they don't mind day guests. You may have to rent a chair if you want one.
