Two Weeks in Paradise Days 4&5
Day 4 October 23rd, Tuesday- We went to Hawksnest today.
Saw some of these at the entrance:
It was mostly bright and sunny. Hawknest is a beautiful beach. 
MrB donned his snorkel gear and headed straight for the rocks to the right of Gibney- far from where we were sitting on the beach. There were some boats moored near the rocks with snorkelers. I started to worry about him being out there by himself so I went in and started swimming over there.

At first, nothing to see except a sand bottom and then as I got closer, huge sea fans, schools of blue tang.
MrB never did realize that I was out there as well. On my way back I saw my first turtle. He was in a hurry so only two pictures of him/her.
Back at the beach there were two couples drinking beer and standing in the ocean. One got the bright idea to go get the donkeys and bring them onto the beach. I think she was feeding them salami. The whole herd came over, right next to our chairs and gear.
MrB and I stayed in the water and watched the spectacle. Everyone on the beach was coming over to take pictures. One man brought his young daughter over (maybe 2yo) to get really close to the donkey. They hung around for quite a while and then another lady started to feed them. Of course when they stopped feeding them, the donkeys started following them. They finally gave up and left. One wandered back a bout 30 minutes later begging us for food, realized we weren't going to give him any and left. Thankfully none of them left any presents on the beach! This night it was back to the villa for dinner and pool time.
Day 5 October 24th, Wednesday- We went to JJ's Texas Coast for breakfast. MrB had enjoyed his breakfast there last year, mine was just ok so I did not want to go back but we did. I thought I would try the biscuits and gravy. Like the creamed dried beef last year it was flavorless white flour sauce. For a place that purports to be "Texan" I think the gravies should be hearty with more meat and spice in them. After breakfast we wandered around Cruz bay and shopped at Pink Papaya, looked at jewelry in Coral Bay jewelers, checked out some clothing shops and then spotted Ruth so we went back to St John Spice and chatted with her and Ron. I wonder what they think of all these people coming to St John an looking for them. I bought some souvenirs for people back home and an Island style CD with Steel drum music and another wrap for the beach. Mom and Dad B had had enough of the beaches for now so they stayed at the villa and we drove over to Haulover.

We went to Haulover North (the rocky one).
You can see a lot of Tortola from there and a part of Virgin Gorda. The coral at Haulover comes almost to the very edge of the water. It is amazingly beautiful. I had trouble with this snorkel. I had been having trouble with my mask and I just started to panic when trying to snorkel. I sat on the beach and waited for MrB. This is the day I took our $300 phone for a swim (it was in a dry bag but it leaked) Uh Oh. Not too bad, it still worked.
Quiet Mon before dinner. Kenny made me a mango blackout punch. I do not remember what was in it but it was good. Some jerk was hanging around and telling MrB how lucky he is to have me and in the same sentence telling him he should not have to wear his wedding ring.

We went to the Balcony this night for dinner. Delicious- Tuna Sashimi (I actually tried some of MrB's & Liked it!) I had the lobster crepes for an app and coconut tempura shrimp for dinner. MrB had the bouillabaisse. I tasted this too. It was sooooo gooood. Service was outstanding. We split the mango cheesecake for desert. Food porn alert!
For some un-Godly reason I awoke at 3am. I did not want to wake anyone up so I went out on the deck an looked at the almost full moon. I got the camera and took about 70 photos. Only a few turned out since my hands were shaky and we forgot the gorilla pod at home. It was incredibly beautiful. Good thing I did this too since it started raining the next night. More to come...

Thanks for the great trip report and pictures. Looking forward to the rest. I'm in the minority here, but I think JJ's is overrated. I haven't had anything more than mediocore there, so I've kind of given it up. I love sitting by the park there though. It's a great spot.

It's too bad that you didn't get to enjoy Haulover.It's my favorite snorkel!I call it my "Underwater Garden of Eden."

Great! Keep'em coming! I like the donkey pics on the beach. Oh, and I'll add that Mr. B is lucky... you ARE very pretty, and it sounds like your a great person too. Maybe that guy was really drunk
