Gotta try something new
Gotta try something new
This will be our 7th or more trip to St. John.
Here are the things we haven't done:
Pastory Gardens
Reef Bay Hike
Indians (don't know much about that)
Vie's Beach (yes, my husband was afraid of driving up THE HILL.)
Any kind of hurricane hole snorkeling, etc...
Night snorkeling
What is your vote? We will have a 7 and 10 year old (girls) with us. One is very adventurous, the other moderately so. She is just a tiny thing so we feel this is the first time she is a good candidate for Reef Bay hike.

HI,
Pastory Gardens mini-golf would be a lot of fun; it's a neat little course and you can learn a little St. John history along the way. We had apps/cocktails at sunset before playing; nice views, good service, decent food and awesome Bloody Mary's.
Is Hurricane Hole where the mangroves are? If so, we've snorkeled there; actually anchored for a night. It was different, but I don't remember it as being outstanding.
The Indans get high marks for a snorkeling spot; haven't tried that yet.
enjoy,

I'm sure the kids would enjoy the mini golf. We took 2 teen girls there in July, and they had fun. We took a day trip with Capt. John (Palm Tree Charters) to the Indians. That was a lot of fun and the snorkeling was good. We made stops at Waterlemon, Tortola, lunch at Foxy's Taboo, and the Caves, also.
We drove over all the way to Long Bay and survived. Tell your husband that if we can do it, anyone can.

Ahh yes!I think night snorkeling is a good idea!Hawksnest and Maho are very good for this.Hawksnest has snapping shrimp that makes you feel like your in a frying pan.And Maho for it's sleeping turtles.Ahh, such good memories!!I you haven't read my night snorkel reports please look them up.It will give you a good idea what's out there.
Happy snorkeling...Parafins

HELLO FROM MICHIGAN...
My daughters love Vie's beach and horseback riding at Carolina Corral. Vie's has chickens and goats roaming around, always a hit with the kids.
Another thing the kids would probably like is a walk around Maho Bay Campground. There are usually a lot of kids there on the beach. They have a great breakfast.
Cheers, RickG

Ask the girls what they want to do!
Another option is to send the more adventurous horse back riding and take the other snorkeling at Haulover South. I did that with my girls in 2004 and it worked out well. In 2006 I sent them both horseback riding and they loved it.
