The swim through part of the Indians

Post by nothintolose »

I was wondering how many of you have swum (is swum a word  ) through that underground tunnel-like part of the Indians.

If you did, was it hard to do? Scary? Did you accidently hit any part of it or is it easy? I chickened out last time but wish I had, but like to have a better idea of what it's like before I try it.

What was tough about it?

Did you have to hold your breath a long time?

Did you have to pop your ears at that depth?

SO did it and his flipper came off then it went through on it's own. Is there a current through there?

I am a good swimmer - just don't want to get stuck under there :)

Those are good questions. I considered a swim through there also. No one else was doing it, so I was a bit afraid to try.

When you get to the other side, can you swim out of the coral and back around, or do you have to swim back through the way you came?

We were on the Willy T's side when SO swam through, and when I chickened out, I followed Cat's hubby over the top of the area.

When Cat dissappeared (swam back to the boat without telling us), her hubby swam back over the top. There was enough clearance to swim over that area so you don't have to swim back through.

Is the water around the Indians usually rough or were we just there on a bad day at the Indians?

We also chickened out. It was very tempting, but we didn't want to chance it.

Keith has done it several times, but I've never bothered, my feeling is why take the chance of cutting your-self, it could reck the rest of your vacation, you have waited soooooooo long for.

I'm not big on doing things, just for the sake of saying you did. But that's just me.
