Help Cheap Rentals

Post by jbr »

Ok, yesterday I said I jumped on some $290 RT tickets out of San Francisco. Today I need to query about some inexpensive (read: cheap) rentals. I have looked at Samuel Cottages (no pool but sounds clean and well kept). Cruz Bay Villas (looks nice with pool but I believe the "montrosity of Siren-whatever" is in full view). Or Serendip (they look a little to apartment like on the website). Opinions from the forumites?

I need keep our expenses down this trip as it is our second this year. Oh and I haven't told my hubby that I am looking at Belize in 2008. Those Coppola owned resorts look fabulous. I told you I was irresponsible.

Try this

Small, but cute and clean. AC in the bedroom, small pool for cooling off.

Tree House is the first place we ever stayed. High up on Mamey Peak, great views. Older home, great breezes, comfortable. Not luxurious, but it's $980 a week!

Depending on where you want to be and how cheap you want it, I have always thought this little place looks good :)

If you want a villa with a pool etc let us know, and let us know how much you are wanting to spend and are you still in "off season" as you know the prices vary alot from season to season.

FYI - I need to spend < $1,000 for the week. Off season rates apply.

Louisenhoj.... GREAT VIEWS! A large house that was built in the mid 80's. The owners do not use a rental agent. You deal with them directly. If you talk to the Anderson's tell them Don Smith in Saint Petersburg referred you. The rate is $900 a week off season for 2 people. PM me if you need more info.

Not a villa but a beautiful place in Coral Bay (2 mins from Skinny's and 10 mins from Maho) - you will need a car.

Is it just for two of you?

I've always thought this place was cute!

Snails Pace is really really cute, but it does not have a view (so to speak) and sometimes, if we have had alot of rain, it may be buggy (I alway get bitten to death in that area rain or not) as it is in the flat part of Fish Bay if that make sense (I rarely do  )

You will need a car for this rental as well.

Thank you all for the suggestions. Any thoughts on Cruz Bay Villas? I like having a pool to dip in after a full day at the beach. I know that's difficult given my price range.

Samuel cottages

Post by parafins »

Jbr, We used Samuel cottages back in July. Clean, air cond.,and close to town. Look up my pics of the kitchen {cottage#2} and views from cottage#3.These pics are under "Trinidad Charlies eco-cottages on St.John" by debbiest23. $600.00 a week is a good deal. I never had any problems with bugs in the cottage. When we wanted a pool we headed to the Westin. Parafins...

jbr, Here's my short list of budget cottage rentals (most under $1,000/wk) for 2 people. We have stayed at some of these and loved them. A rental car is necessary, as they are all on the Coral Bay side:

Caribbean cottage: http://www.vrbo.com/139712
Catch 'n' Keep http://www.vrbo.com/75872
Coconut Hill: http://www.vrbo.com/115186
Tropical Treehouse: http://www.tropicaltreehouse.com
Just Enough: http://www.vrbo.com/51729
New Moon: http://www.vrbo.com/107852
Kiddel Bay Cottage: http://www.kiddelbay.com

BTW, re Belize 2008, we have stayed at both of Coppola's places in Belize -- they were amazing!

Good luck with your search, and lucky you for getting such great airfare from SF!
