Oceana Restaurant

Post by kseeland@mac.com »

The Oceana Restaurant is NOT to be missed. The outdoor seating area overlooks the gorgeous Baye de GriGri. Its history is long and interesting. It was originally owned by the first Danish Governor of St. Thomas. Much of the original weathered building remains, allowing it to have a romantic atmosphere. The fare is exquisite. My particular favorite is the tuna tartar. The staff is attentive yet relaxed and always helpful. Each dish is luscious and always beautifully presented. The Oceana needs to be on everyone's gastronomic bucket list!

****Much of the original weathered building remains**** quote
The original building burned to the ground in 1978 -- just before it opened as a Chart house restaurant -- the current building was built afterwards.
Excellent Restaurant !!
