Tracfone on STJ

Post by Pat »

Anyone know if our Tracfone will work on the island? Will we be able to call home in case of an emergency?

My Tracfone always worked fine on STJ for many years. I have AT&T now, and it also works great for calls. Just be careful which side of the island you are on. East end, you may pick up the BVI's. Also Beaudoux, just be careful. If you can see the BVI's, you may be roaming. Enjoy your trip!! :D

I am wondering if there is a way to specifically NOT connect to the BVI towers? We'll be down in a few weeks and I hate wondering if I am connected to a BVI tower or not.

On our phones we turn roaming off, sometimes data roaming is a separate setting. We have a BVI SIM card in an old iphone that we use east of Norman Island and Cane Garden Bay, that is set to have roaming off too!
