Need help finding a villa

Post by Maggy »

After several years in a row, with Virgin Gorda vacations, my husband is now ready for St John again. We're planning one week at each island next late April. We will also introduce STJ to two of our VG friends, who never been there.

So, I'm looking for a 2+ bedroom villa in preferably Coral Bay or Ajax Peak area. Have not totally ruled out the other side yet, but I think Coral bay might suit us better.

Must have: great view, 2 king beds (or twin beds in one bedroom as our friends are not a couple). Wifi is a must too.

Nice to have: AC, pool. Would be good if common areas are not too cramped, so that everyone can have some space.
Budget: Absolute max $2800 for a week (total). Rather less :).

Can you help? I have done some research, but need some more options.

Thanks for your help.

Orions Hill would fit the bill other than it only has two queens, does have pullout sofabed though. Nice villa stayed there a few years back. Great views Top of Ajax peak

Thanks. Yes, it looks nice, but I rather not put two persons who are not a couple in a queen bed. It's a little more space in a king (or twins). If we can't find anything else maybe, but hopefully we will as it's 11 months left.

Will keep it on my list though.

We have only stayed in Coral Bay once but we loved the villa and if you are after the season rates drop, it will be in your range. It has twin beds in one room and a view to die for

We stayed at DeBolina a couple years ago on Ajax Peak! GREAT views and lots of room!! There are stairs up to it from the parking area.

Great suggestions.

Reef Madness is unfortunaly booked. That was my first choice.

One Particular Harbor looks great, but does not for some reason have wifi. Most villas has that and it's very important to us, as it's extremely expensive for us to use internet with an European phone. And I need to be able to stay in touch with my mom.

Keep the suggestions coming. I really appreciate it.

Great views and it looks really nice, but unfortunately $700 more than our budget. But it's a 4 bedroom villa, so I get why it's more expensive.

I'm started to sound really picky, but that's not my intention. We only have a few musts and that's the view, wifi and king/twin beds.

And we might consider other locations also, if we find the right house. I just don't want to take them from really laid back VG to the most busy area in STJ :D

I have not stayed there but it seems to fit your requirements.

I really liked that villa, but it was unfortunately occupied by the owner from mid October til June :( . It's harder than I thought finding the right villa.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I like Island Horizons and have actually been up there once and toured the villa. But again, it's booked :(.

Tree house I didn't like that much from the pictures.

Seabiscuit looks ok, but not sure. It does only have a queen bed in master bedroom. Have you stayed there? How was the view?

Take a look at Someday Isle (3BR), which I believe is just up the hillside from One Particular Harbor. Speaking of OPH, I wonder if it is still true that this property doesn't have wireless. That seems really unusual at this price point. The listing could be out of date.

Some other ideas:
Villa Margherita. Technically only 2 bedrooms, but note that the "media den" could serve as a 3rd bedroom. http://www.homeaway.com/vacation-rental/p102354

Notre Ciel would be great if it comes back on the market. For some reason it is unavailable for the rest of 2013. You could email them and ask what's going on?

Monkey No Climb has an incredible view and 2 equal king bedrooms.

Viewtiful (Mamey Peak) has one king BR and a 2nd BR that can be made up as either 2 twins or a king: http://www.privatehomesvi.com/viewtiful.htm

Thank you dreamshark. I will check out these and I will also email and ask about wifi at OPH. The website says no though.

Casa Bueno is nice and then each friend would have their own bedroom or Amarilla Villa!
