For our trip in November our arrival date is also my 50th birthday!

If all goes as planned, we hope to be on the 5:00 ferry.

We need to pick up our jeep, tour our villa (located near the Westin), head to Starfish for groceries and then back to the villa to unload groceries.

What we are trying to decide is what to do for dinner. I think we will be tired from the long travel day and will not want to get back out. But it will be my 50th birthday!!! And we need to celebrate!

We thought about hiring a private chef but with the uncertainty of timing that is probably not a good idea for our first night.

Any suggestions? Maybe there is a restaurant in the same complex as Starfish that is open for dinner and we can place our order to go and take it back to the villa?

I'd do Candie's BBQ Order go to starfish come back and pick it up head to the villa

If you like sushi you could go up to the second floor of the Starfish Market center and place an order to go with Zero Sushi and go shop for groceries while you wait. I haven't been there (yet) but have heard great reviews. Check it out:www.zerosushi.com

But if you're starving for something hearty, you can't go wrong with Candi's BBQ right across the street or have Sam & Jacks whip up a lasagna, bread and salad for your group!
Either way, it sounds like you will have a fabulous 50th!

Why not have a couple of espresso martini's and head out for the night! You only have a 50th birthday once!

Not sure how many people you are traveling with but Mathayom does hot gourmety food drop off. I just saw it on his site, min of 4 people.
The menu looks pretty darn good.

Did he just add this service? I think it is a great idea. I like to cook, it is shopping for the ingredients (and not being able to find what I need/want) that prevents me from doing dinners at the villa.

Yes, I think it was added about a month ago. I think I am going to try it this trip.

jdw, another option is Katilady's "survival arrival" dinners. They'll put it in the fridge for you and you can reheat when you get there. I think St. John Catering's options are a little more interesting, but the "survival arrival" package is cheaper. You could turn the leftovers into lunches. Here's a link to katilady's options:

We did one of Katilady's arrival dinners a few years ago. It was a roasted chicken, rice, roasted veggies and maybe a pie. Anyway, the portions were VERY generous and it did provide lots of leftovers.

That is good to hear. I just ordered that dinner for our arrival evening next week. I am going to do St. John Catering the next night, but I am going to order the grill pack instead of the in-house chef since I don't know what time we will want to eat. I will report back on both of course
