BOA Visa foreign transaction fees

Post by kristen1206 »

Since I don't trust their customer service reps (I get a different answer each time I call), I thought I would ask the experts. Since St. John is a US territory, I should incur NO fees when using that card on island, correct? I do have a fee free Capital One card solely for travel that I could use but would prefer to rack up the points on my regular Visa instead.

Thanks!

No not in the USVI, but if you go over to JVD for the day and use the BOA card over there, you will get hit with the foreign transaction fee (usually 3%) even though they use the USA dollar as their currency.
